Santa Cruz Inn Riverside

Small room, but clean. Historic building with old Spanish charm. The location was perfect for my meeting at another location. Did not attend continental breakfast during stay. TV was adequate, air condition unit was cooling.

I can see why this is a 2-star motel. No shampoo, no coffee, vending machines empty, tv worked sporadically! On the flip side, there was a nice patio area where their longer term tenants gathered - nice plants, comfortable benches, etc.

Santa Cruz Inn is a quaint little hotel in Riverside. Couldn't beat the price, good AC, clean room and bathroom, slept like a baby.

The room had a weird smell; the sheets were stained; the television did not work; there were small insects (spiders, beetles, etc); and the toilet tissue was never replenished.

For what I paid, the hotel was reasonable. The windows do not close completely, so there's lot's of street noise all night. The unit AC was extremely loud and not insulated to the outside. There was dust build up at the edges of the wall to wall carpeting. This could be a charming hotel with some improvements. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Hotel staff (all except one) was not helpful. There are severl other better hotels in that area close to the price we were paying.

I found a bed bug in the room I stayed in. I said something to the person at the front desk and asked for a refund. She said the manager wasn't there, and I would have to call.
