Bosque Del Mar (BDM) is a gem. I have stayed here twice and save this stop for my last few days in Costa Rica for some rest and relaxation. The rooms with living areas and bathrooms are comfortable and provide all the amenities you need for a short stay. The grounds are a coastal jungle paradise with a serene pool & hot tub, and a pristine beach. The restaurant and bar on site are splendid and the spa is blissful. With all that said the facility itself has a few issues as it’s a work in progress however it seems this hotel has been a work in progress for over two years. There has been busy construction during both of my visits here which is counterproductive to the luxury and relaxing aesthetic which the hotel commands. The other issue is the water has a tendency to take awhile to heat up and sometimes runs out, understandable due to the location. Safety here is also not a concern for me, there are more security cameras than I feel comfortable with; one pointing right into my living room, one facing my porch and another overlooking the entire pool area. So why 4 stars? The staff- the stars go to the staff at BDM. From your check-in, to happy hour at Nya, and meals at Niromi, or self care with your massage therapist; every single staff member you encounter at BDM will make you feel like a VIP. The courtesy and friendliness of the people running this hotel are truly what makes this place feel like paradise. You will want for very little at BDM. To pivot to food and drink, Nya Bar has a an excellent beverage menu and daily offerings for happy hour. Niromi restaurant’s success lies with their incredible chef and wait staff. Every meal is made with high quality ingredients and delicate care which offer delicious flavor, and also happens to be beautifully presented. The wait staff are pleasant and engaged making the experience a delight. Now for the spa. I did not get to fully enjoy the loveliness of the spa this visit due to the construction, but massages were offers 2 for 1 so I was able to indulge two days in a row at a temporary location, despite the commotion and strange location. Knowing the vibe which BDM intends, I can only imagine that a new spa is part of the changes in the making. I did get to frequent the spa my previous visit and it was a small but lovely space. The massage therapists are skilled and professional. In all, I would give BDM a third stay, perhaps call to ask for an estimated project completion date. This place can be worth it!

The room was beautiful with a living room, and the hotel is right on the beach! Service was great, and I loved having a refrigerator. They provided cups of ice as needed. The location was perfect - on the beach and only 10 minutes from Coco Beach and town.

What a stunning hotel nestled in a forest/tree garden right on the beach. The service and food were excellent. For a business dinner the staff accommodated us by creating a dining experience on the beach. The food was superb. Thanks to Alexis. Jonathan. We had an amazing family vacation at Hotel Bosque del Mar. The location couldn’t be better — right on the beach and surrounded by nature. Every morning we saw monkeys playing in the trees, which made the experience even more special. The staff were all super friendly and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was excellent — especially the breakfast! We booked our tours with nomadtoursrcr and had an amazing time! We visited waterfalls, Buena Vista Adventure Park, and did a private boat tour around the Papagayo Peninsula where we saw turtles and dolphins. Gabriel helped us organize everything and made the process super easy. Highly recommend them for anyone visiting Guanacaste!

We loved this place! The staff is amazing. The room is amazing! The beach is fantastic! The food is delicious. This place feels like you are staying in a jungle, the grounds are so fun. The beach is easily accessible and the sand is smooth. They evenings are quiet and sitting out on the deck is peaceful. The staff really make this place special. Alexis, Carlos, Yelzin, Genissis, Jonathan, and Chef Pablo were all so amazing. They are all wonderful people! We had no issues the entire stay but I'm sure if we did they'd make it right . We also did a massage on property and it was very nice. The two masseuse did a terrific job . The biggest lift is we asked for an anniversary dinner on the beach and they set up such a wonderful sunset dinner. Amazing experience, we'll be back! One thing I will say I was confused about when I was researching is walk ability. If you are somewhat adventurous you can walk to a few things outside of the resort but I'd recommend mostly planning on using a car or UBER.

Das Design, der Pool und die Lage waren super. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr aufmerksam.

Es kam zu enormen Baulärm während unseres Aufenthalts, überall in der Anlage und das an jedem Tag. Wir konnten daher die Anlage bzw. unseren schönen Balkon nicht so nutzen, wie wir es gern gemacht hätten. Uns ist bewusst, dass eine Anlage am Meer regelmäßig renoviert wird und natürlich macht das aus Sicht des Hotels in der Regenzeit Sinn, aber dann muss man die Gäste darüber informieren oder zumindest den Zimmerpreis senken.

We loved everything about our stay at Bosque Del Mar. the best ceviche in Playa Hermosa and great breakfasts and dinners too. Bryan was so kind and maite the manager was super sweet as well. What a gorgeous jungle beach hotel with stunning rooms!! Highly recommend over the huge chains in town!

We stayed three nights at Bosque Del Mar and were well taken care of from the time we checked in until the time we left. If we needed anything at all, we just asked Sebastian at the front desk and he'd get right on it. We wanted to go on a guided tour and he helped us figure out the best one that would fit our interests and our budget. Shirley and Carlos made sure we were taken care of at the pool and the dining room. They would check in on us now and then to be sure we had water or a soft drink or whatever we needed. Genesis always greeted us at the bar with a smile and perhaps a quick lesson in Spanish. We had almost all of our meals on site and Alexis, Shirley, Sofia, Yeltsin or Morsi were there to keep our water and drinks filled and we relied on them to tell us their favorite meals. The meals here were some of the best of our trip with a good selection for each meal. For the most part we ordered from the more casual menu. We had the burger, chicken wrap and fish sandwich and all were very tasty and filling. My wife and sister-in-law took advantage of the spa and were thrilled with Nancy, Olga and apologies to the young lady that did the pedicures, we don't recall her name but I'm told she did an awesome job. The hotel is right on the beach and we rented the standup paddle boards. We learned our standup paddle boarding requires some practice... ha Our trip was a tour of three locations in Costa Rica booked through Friendly Planet travel and this is a hotel they use for the last part of the trip. We didn't have a say of our accommodations but we have absolutely no complaints with Bosque Del Mar. Thanks Everyone for a great visit.
