The staff were lovely especially the young man on in the evening who gave us,lots,of biscuits very clean lovely comfy bed and great breakfast me and my boyfriend would definetly stay again

Brilliant hotel for our short trip to York. Staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was delicious - table service with buffef and cooked breakfasts available. I would highly recommend!

We’ve just come back from a 2 night stay at the Minster Hotel in York. The location was perfect for what we needed just a 5 minute walk from town. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The paper given at check in requesting not to post issues online as they’re a “small family business” experiencing “unprecedented times” and are in the process of training their cleaning staff in addition to their already “vigorous” schedule doesn’t set off on the right foot. Furthermore, while they do have a private car park that is gated, it was a kick in the teeth to pay £20 for the privilege only to read inside that it is free depending on the site used to book your stay. Our room was very dated and in desperate need of a fresh paint to cover the holes and cracks as well as an exposed screw where I imagine a picture once hung. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable and the frame was particularly loud waking us in the night from turning over. The tea and coffee facilities were great and a bag left outside the room to top these up our second day was lovely, the biscuits were especially nice. The only thing missing here was some drinking glasses for water. Overall it wasn’t a bad stay at the Minster Hotel, just disappointing that the lovely rooms advertised in pictures online didn’t match the room we were in. so not the best value for money when a chain hotel would have cost much less and likely been in better condition
