Catalonia Montego Bay - All Inclusive

Overall, the experience was a good one. The staff minus the agents at check-in were top notch. Food was excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The beach was great! Kudos to Otis and Bob at the beach bar!!! The staff at check-in needs to be more aware of how they treat the clientele especially local residents.

Catalonia was a beautiful experience, met all of our needs. Accommodation, gym, restaurant and more.. really was value for money. House keeping were excellent! Clean beds and facilities. Will definitely be returning in the next few weeks 😊

I loved the service and especially in the bar area. You should have more people like Samone she was lovely to be around

Friendly staff, clean rooms

The best part of this resort was the lids club! The staff was amazing. Food wasnt good, they would run out of jerk chicken and burgers. restaurant staff was rude and lazy. We checked out early and went to another resort! Also they are under construction so the lids swing set isnt there anymore.

I enjoyed my stay at Catalina Hotel in Montego Bay. What stood out most was the variety of restaurants on the property,you have different dining options to choose from, which makes the experience more enjoyable. The property itself is quite large and very spacious, which gave a nice open feel. While there are definitely some areas that could use improvement, overall, the hotel was a good experience.

On the downside, there were a few areas that definitely need improvement. The elevator was often out of service, which meant walking up and down four flights of stairs just to get to the room or around the property. The air conditioning also went down for several hours one day, from around noon until late evening, which was uncomfortable. Additionally, the AC being set on “auto” sometimes made the room feel hot before it kicked in. Some of the fixtures and furnishings could use upgrades. The bathroom doors felt outdated and could be improved, and the balcony would benefit from better outdoor seating. The tubs also feel old-fashioned; replacing them with modern standing showers and glass enclosures would give the rooms a much fresher, up-to-date feel.

It would have been fair to let us know that the hotel was currently under construction and that the adult pool and gameroom were not available before we booked. The pool table in the area near the gym had a giant tear. There were large boxes and debris in the corner of the tennis courts. I got a rather severe sunburn the first day. The next morning my husband wanted me to stay in bed and went to get me something to eat. He was stopped while trying to leave the buffet, and when he asked about room service he was told that was only for "privileged" members. He had to leave the small plate he had already made for me. There also seemed to be a mosquito infestation, something we had never before experienced at a resort. We were continually bitten no matter where we went, including at the buffet and open air restaurant. I had to stay in our room at night to avoid the mosquitoes, but eventually we were bitten in our room too. We bought benadryl cream in the on-site store. We were charged $33.00 for a small tube. The entertainment, heard from our room, was either not very good or the fault was the entertainment system, which usually sounded fuzzy and unclear. The room was lovely, but the t.v. reception was poor and the jacuzzi stopper was broken. There were no instructions on how to turn the jacuzzi on. There was a leak in the bathroom and slight openings in the closed outside doors, thereby allowing in the mosquitoes. The food was just not very good.
