A perfect place to experience historic Charleston. The inn is beautiful and offers many amenities,,,, a full breakfast, coffee in the lobby, afternoon tea, and evening brandy. Staff are attentive. The area is walkable and filled with historic places of interest. Many fine dining choices.

The John Rutledge House Inn was everything we expected and more! John, our Concierge, was helpful in every way. We could not have asked for a better experience. I would give the John Rutledge House Inn my highest recommendations to anyone who asked. We will plan to stay there again on future trips to Charleston.

We enjoyed a wonderful 4 day stay at the Rutledge House. The room was spacious, the staff very helpful, and the breakfast’s were delicious. The location is also ideal for exploring Charleston and with almost all sites, shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended!

The room was comfortable and decorated beautifully. The beds were amazing!! The breakfast was wonderful, however more daily choices, other than the daily special, would have been a bonus. Al the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and definitely recommend John Rutledge House Inn.

The JR is a very special haven within the city. Rooms and public spaces are beautiful and the staff brings a sophisticated yet warm level of service to all. Shout out to Maurice and Elizabeth! Conveniently located for strolls to all areas of downtown Charleston and its many offerings. We LOVED our breakfasts and other thoughtful amenities.
