Great hotel in a perfect location . Rooms are incredibly quiet despite the restaurant and pool being on the same side as all the rooms. Yes, a giant resort-style hotel surrounded by small mom-and-pop hotels in a smaller town does feel a bit well…icky maybe , but…the staff make up for it, absolutely fantastic, from the front desk to the servers to the housekeepers . Learn some Spanish as this isn’t a soul-sapping Cancun resort where “dos cervesas por favor” will get you by, respect the locals and learn a few phrases. Grab a tuk-tuk and head up the streets for markets/trinkets/local eats . Panajachel was our favorite stop in Guatemala , would’ve stayed longer if we could . Bonus is the container of potable water in the hallways for drinking water, this is the first hotel we stayed at in the country that had this .

Clean, quiet and comfortable

The hotel is very outdated and feels like it hasn’t been renovated in at least 30 years. Everything looks old, and they are still using traditional metal keys instead of key cards, which was surprising. What shocked me the most was their policy regarding lost keys. Our child misplaced the key somewhere on the property, and we were charged 500 for it. That seems like a completely unreasonable amount . Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the condition of the hotel and the excessive charge for something so minor. Don't recommend, totally not worth it.
