handy place for us to stop over

Have stopped at the hotel a number of times previously I was extremely disappointed in the state of the hotel. Carpets were old and threadbare and in some parts obviously water damaged but not fixed. Wood panels were hanging off the walls and held by warning tape. Breakfast on the last day in particular was very poor due to lack of staff, two servers were trying to cope with a large number of residents with the result that none of the tables were cleared - we had to clear our own table and find suitable crockery. Staff were obviously under extreme pressure when it was clear more staff were needed given guest numbers. Rooms were clean but dated. Staff were at all times friendly and helpful but hotel requires major repair and refurbishment and will not stay again until completed.

Nice hotel in nice location. Breakfast could have been much better.

I stayed whilst on business and also to visit family. The staff were lovely - very helpful, rooms nicely furnished and food excellent I would recommend

Lovely hotel, very helpful staff, only down-side was that the buses weren't very frequent so it would be easier to get to with a car.

Corridors need major renovation. Rooms have had some renovation but furniture is dated. Good service and good food in the restaurant. Staff very efficient and friendly

The hotel is undoubtedly value for money, comfortable but the fabric is tired. What made it was the staff, so friendly, welcoming and helpful, especially Joanne on reception

We were in a room on the 3rd floor with heavy suitcases and no elevator or a porter offered. Also the Breakfast was awful as they kept running out of basics like Eggs, then the eggs came but no Bacon etc. The staff were all just seemed like young inexperienced girls and they were struggling.... no management in sight anywhere.

Traveling up from Birmingham was an absolute nightmare, the postcode sent us around in circles on the m62 until I pulled over on the hard shoulder and tried to call the hotel twice but to my dismay it just rang out... I found another hotel nearby the golf and was redirected to that and redirected by the pleasant staff inside. When finally getting to the hotel the receptionist didn't seem bothered about our bad experience but added that in fact the hotel has two postcodes? That is RIDICULOUS!! Head office/Google need to change this ASAP When getting our keys which we was staying in room22 first floor we opened our room to be welcomed with a strong smell of mould and hair was all in the bathroom there was a half opened shower gel in in the shower which makes me believe this room was NOT cleaned 100%. The window had a child lock in presuming because it only opened with a small gap to let air in and it over looked the car park with no blinds etc if we wanted to keep curtains still open. Once settling in and finally fell asleep despite the mould smell we was woken up at 3am with the fire alarm. Absolutely terrible I would never in a million years stay here again!! Not worth £90 the bathroom was falling apart, the carpet in the room and throughout the hotel was ripped and dirty it stunk of mould in the room and being woken up by the fire alarm was the last straw!! I could NOT WAIT to checkout and drive home to Birmingham,

It was a very nice place,you would need a car though, we got lost a few times. Staff very friendly, room a bit tired but clean
