The Old Golf House, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Beautiful property and staff are simply the best. Had a great nights sleep. Lovely hotel.

The famiy room we stayed in was dated with mis matched furniture. We waited over an hour for breakfast with just one lady serving the whole room. Wouldn't stay here again

Nice hotel. Rooms basic but clean. Breakfast on Saturday morning was great, unfortunately on Sunday it was a different story. The chef didn't turn up, there was nothing laid out at 8am and a lot of people were just leaving without breakfast as they didn't have time to wait. Apart from that, the hotel and staff were great, the location is also good.

What I thought would be a great find for two nights turned out to be very disappointing based on site photos - it's old, shabby, musty. Couldn't take the discomfort of the old, lumpy mattress a second night so requested to move to another room. Much better night the second night. "Hot breakfast" was cold as ice and definitely not like the photos!

We upgraded to a superior room and it was spacious and well equipped with a nice bathroom. The bed was comfortable and although the motorway is right outside the window there was no intrusive noise. The staff were friendly and the breakfast which was included was fine for me with a choice of fruit, cereals and pastries but my husband was disappointed not to have a choice of fried egg with his breakfast. We didn’t realise until too late that you could ask for one to be specially cooked. I would just agree with others in reviews that it can be hard to find and the sat nav didn’t help much but a gentleman walking his dog in the cold and rain did!

Unsafe feeling from area

The hotel was ok. It's not great but it was quite cheap so that's alright. It's v close to the motorway but the noise was NOT a problem. The carpets in the hall/corridors were a bit grubby but the rooms were ok.

Well we arrived sat tea time, a wedding was in progress, most worse for wear, unable to get to the bar, later was told no food till around 8.30. We arranged with the receptionist to eat else where. Came back still unable to get a drink at the bar. Went into room. So we saw reception area and room. Bad experience. I am sure normally would be better. Should be told weddings take place and to ring hotel to find out . So will probably not go again.

Staff are friendly. Hotel is in need of a dire upgrade. Looks nothing like the marketing imagery. Bathroom was awful. Shame as it could be really nice. This stay will teach me to no steer away from Holiday Inns, Premier Inns etc.

2nd visit another enjoyable time only complaint was the Luke warm breakfast 😊
