The Westin Monache Resort, Mammoth

Had a lovely 2-bedroom unit on a corner, with great view into town. Karoline, at the desk, took excellent care of us and made good suggestions for dining at night. She was a delight; I think my husband had a crush!

Aside from the wonderful sceneries, and being our first time in Mammoth, Westin never fails my expectations. Location was accessible to Village Mammoth, restaurants and cafe’s. Plus also accessible to trolley and other transits which we tried as well and enjoyed the ride. We loved that it was a pet friendly place. Hotel was super elegant , with a good and excellent staff. Ambiance was great which compromises of efficient staff, starting from the in charge of the valet as you enter the door. Then by the front desk area, especially, Bea. One would feel the sincere warmth and welcoming of each person in the front desk. Also people from Whitebark restaurant serves good breakfast and staff were very accommodating as well. Parking was great too and covered very secure. Rooms were big, with complete set up , very homey . Everything was well provided and maintained. Value was worth it , with the service they provide. We had a wonderful stay, waking up fresh and witnessing sunrise in our room. The pool was great too and the gym , size was just ok since you wouldn't spend much time there, but one would just want to enjoy the different outdoor activities. Swimming is also a good option after an outdoor adventure and gives you ample time to enjoy the pool since it closes at 10pm. We had a wonderful experience and stay. Would love to go back and stay again here, with our pet this time. Highly recommended.

Mammoth Lakes has spectacular scenery. My husband and I went there in October, which is in the off-peak season. We loved the quiet and the lack of big crowds you’d find in the winter or summer. Staying at the Westin Monache was the perfect place to access the “Village” restaurants and stores because we could simply walk to them. The hotel food was delicious, and the amenities were easily accessible. The room was spacious! The staff was very accommodating, too. I was particularly thankful to Tim, the manager-on-duty (MOD), because I had a highly unexpected personal situation arise, and he went out of his way to help me. I couldn’t have resolved my problem without his support, quick thinking, and thoughtfulness. Thank you, Tim!

Great apartments for families. Clean & comfortable beds.

Nothing except the dinner from the restaurant was a tad salty but that’s just me nitpicking :)

Excelente opción para alojamiento: apartamento para familia, espacioso, bien dotado y muy confortable. Atención excelente en recepción y restaurante. Muy buena ubicación. Espacios limpios y bien cuidados. Volvería encantada!. Fue un hotel que escogimos de paso y realmente hubiésemos querido quedarnos mas tiempo, tanto el hotel como el destino nos encantaron!

La calidad de uno de los platos en el restaurante del hotel y en general los precios del restaurante me parecieron altos.

Het hotel ligt in een prachtige omgeving, op ongeveer 45 minuten afstand van Yosemite. De kamer was ruim en voorzien van een kitchenette en een aparte slaapkamer met een erg comfortabel bed. Het personeel aan de frontdesk is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Na de procedure van het inchecken kregen we een glaasje bubbels aangeboden. Heel erg fijn dat je gratis kunt parkeren bij de accommodatie.

Jammer genoeg werd het zwembad tijdens ons verblijf gerenoveerd. Er kon wel gebruik gemaakt worden van het zwembad bij een naast gelegen hotel. Housekeeping laat veel steken vallen en heeft meer begeleiding en aansturing van het management nodig. Bij aankomst was de koelkast nog vies en daarbij lagen er resten van vuil op de grond. De volgende dag lag het vuil er nog en was de vuilnisbak van de keuken niet geleegd terwijl deze overvol was. De derde dag was om 16.00 uur de kamer nog niet schoongemaakt. Na er melding van te hebben gemaakt bij de receptie werd er wel gelijk actie ondernomen en is de kamer schoongemaakt (in 10 minuten tijd). Helaas lagen de vuilresten bij de koelkast er wel nog steeds. Door de slechte schoonmaak vind ik de prijs/kwaliteit niet in verhouding staan. Ik verwacht een hogere standaard van een hotel die zulke prijzen hanteert. Maar voor de omgeving wel de moeite waard.

PROs: fine, fresh property. Nice furniture in the rooms. Westin bed - if you know you know. Splendid heated pool with two hot tubs, surrounded by trees and some view to the mountains. These large pools stand out as a key asset, in my opinion. Location is superb: staircase steps from the gondolas and the village restaurants & shops. Fine internal garage, Ackowledgment of Bonvoy Titanium Status. Kind people in all departments - thank you Tim for checking in with us and thanks all for being so welcoming with my kids. Beautiful restaurant, with an alpine feel given by the trees that are all around it. CONs: Nothing major, really. In the low season the breakfast has no buffet and it can be time consuming (anyway it was much better this year than the previous one). Only two elevators can make it a bit slow to get in and out. CONCLUSIONS This is a very, very good hotel, starting from being a fine property, with kind personnel that offer GREAT family time and very good feel. I perceived strong alignment in all departments.
