"Peace and quiet"

6.0

We stayed in villa 111 for 6 nights, found it very peaceful and comfortable. Pool villa had great views was generally clean, although maintenance was just average. The only issue we had that really does need improving is the breakfast, we could not eat it as was very poor and budget food just catering for the Chinese guests. Enjoyed the stay but would not return

"Not for us "

2.0

I need to start this review with this: I’m the kind of person that enjoys staying anywhere from hostels to luxury hotels, as long as I get what I’m expecting. For the price point, we expected a lot more from this place. This place feels like a deserted resort. Upon arrival, around 4pm, there was one couple lounging by the pool - but that was it. In the 30min we were there, we only saw three hotel staff members and two hotel guests. It felt extremely empty and it was all very odd. From where I stood, the unmanned pool bar was barely stocked, like someone just put out 2-3 bottles of liquor to make it look like a bar. The shops were closed, there was no one at the restaurants. One staff member told me that most of the hotel guests were out on day trips and tours, but it still didn’t make me feel any better. We checked in and got a free upgrade from studio pool villa to the one bedroom, with hopes that maybe the villas are nice enough to hide in and maybe that’s were all the other guests were hiding. However, it felt like our villa entertained it’s last guest 20 years ago and all that was missing were cobwebs. The fountain at the door of our villa, which may have pretty once, was drained and empty. The pool looked dark and there was an empty water bottle on the deck floor. The room was clean enough but everything could have benefited from an upgrade within the last ten years at least. The first thing we did was use the WiFi to find a different hotel. We immediately left 30 minutes upon arriving. My husband and I were looking for a peaceful escape after a week in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, but this was TOO quiet. It didn’t match our expectations and I booked without reading the reviews more carefully, just assuming the four stars it currently has was a reflection of the resort today. The last “good” reviews were from three years ago. I’ll echo the sentiments of past reviewers that this place was probably nice once, but desperately needs a major makeover today. The only positive thing I can say about the place is that the staff members were extremely friendly and very accommodating, apologizing profusely that the resort didn’t live up to our standards. We apologized to them for troubling them. They gave us a refund for 2 out of the 3 nights we booked the room for, and even called us a taxi to take us to the next hotel.

"Confused"

2.0

I did read about this hotel before I booked. We were only there one night and it was convenient for the ferry to Koh Yao Noi early the next morning. Its a bit like the land that time forgot. The resort could be so nice but it looked like it had been shut for 20 years, Even our taxi driver questioned us as to why we were staying there until we said it was only for one night. The views are spectacular. The villas are huge but outdated. What looks like a stone bath was actually plastic. And weirdly enough there were light switches everywhere. So many that we couldn't find them all and ended up sleeping with a light on in the bedroom and lounge because we didn't know how to turn them off. The place was also deserted. We saw three other people while we were there and that was in the restaurant which had more staff than patrons. Its a shame really because it could be lovely. But it needs a lot of work and it was expensive too

"Disgusting resort"

2.0

We chose to stay in this resort for 1 night due to it's proximity to the Ao Po Grand Marina, affordability and relatively good star rating on Expedia, google reviews, and yelp. Our experience was TERRIBLE. We arrived to be told that we were "upgraded" to a suite with a pool. On first glance we were excited until we started looking around. The resort was basically deserted. The staff spoke next to no english. The 2 tvs in our room were broken. The ceiling in the bathroom was collapsing from water damage. The faucet literally fell off the sink when touched. We chose to suck it up and spray ourselves down with bug spray before we went to bed because we arrived too late to find a new hotel only to wake up at 2 in the morning with food poisoning from the food we ate from their restaurant the night before. My husband got rushed to the hospital for a bacterial infection caused by the food poisoning and both of us needed antibiotics. This hotel looked like it could have been nice 10 years ago but was probably hit by a tsunami and never fixed up. Do not stay here - not worth the money AT ALL.

"Relaxing and quite paradise"

8.0

Chandara is a place to go to meditate and enjoy nature. The Rooms are large and set in a Tropical forest setting with the sounds of wildlife all around. Also located nearby in the Ao Po Marina which is a nice place to visit and enjoy the dockside bar.

"Not a nice resort"

4.0

I recommend to choose another accommodation. There are so many nicer hotels in Phuket than this old resort. The food wasn't good, the beach was dirty, rooms and furniture looking very old. Everything (food, massages, ...) is not as good as outside of the resort, but twice as expensive.

"Unhurried and relaxed retreat"

10.0

The resort consists of discrete villas spread about the central amenities complex and pool overlooking the ocean. The place is really quiet and relaxed - plenty to do around Phuket or do nothing at all.... Really friendly and competent staff, great restaurant, clean and well presented accommodation with WiFi (if you forget you are on holidays).

"Save your money and go elsewhere, very out dated now"

2.0

Pontless upgrade to shift us in to a poor room, requested original booked room. Old hotel in dire need of refurbishment, this hotel gets rammed with tour busses morning and night and hundreds of tourists make their way through the hotel to access the tour boats, the hotel has made a temporary pier out of oil drums to accommodate 30 or more tour boats and this is rather noisy in the mornings and evenings. NOT so exclusive or relaxing, an old hotel trying new tricks to make cash, not recommended at all, try another hotel.
