Club Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Mountains

my day was excellent and I look forward to staying there again

We loved staying here. The rooms are huge...I booked a "studio", and was expecting just that...not a one bedroom condo with a loft, which is what the room actually was!! I picture a "studio" as one room with a kitchenette. The room has a full kitchen and washer/dryer, pull out bed in the loft and a separate bathroom. The only issue were the blinds in the bathroom were broken, and couldn't be closed. Lake Lure is off-season for the most part during winter, and other activities are a decent drive from this area. We went to DuPont which is over an hour away. Chimney Rock is about a half hour away. Wish it was a little closer to other activities. During the summer, however, this place would be primo.

This is a great hotel for a romantic getaway. Something different from the city life!

Very comfortable and quiet townhouse complex with pretty forest views in the mountains. Very clean/well equipped and helpful service providers. Close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and lots to see and and do. Near good restaurants. Has an association with a club for golf, exercise facility, boating and other sporting activities. Good pub/restaurant on the grounds.

Staff was friendly, hospitable and helpful. Lovely area, room came well equipped for whatever a visitor could possibly need.

When I booked the hotel room I thought I was booking a hotel room. The picture even shows what looks like a hotel. When we arrived on Saturday evening, the check-in was closed. Eventually we got into the lockbox and got our "package" that lead us to a condo (that is what is shown in the picture). No lobby, no room service, had to drive to everything. We had a nice time, but would not have booked it if I had known what it was ahead of time.

Our jacuzzi was broken. Obviously there is no cell service, but the land phones had staticky service. We couldn't call local restuarants and spas which was frustrating. Be prepared; it is absolutely in the middle of nowhere! If that's what you're looking for, this is the place for you!

Friendly staff!! Awesome stay in a quiet environment. Loved the rural setting and the drive to the location. Thanks to Sherry for her insights into local gems.

The resort was wonderful; our two-bedroom suite with kitchen and two baths was within walking distance of the golf club and its pub/restaurant, plus the excellent lakeside restaurant for dinner. We could have brought food with us to use in the kitchen, but we didn't know that a kitchen was part of the deal. Next time we go we'll take breakfast items, etc. Lake Lure is beautiful and we were lucky with the weather. Lots of things to do and see.

This was more like a condo unit instead of a hotel. Plenty of room, small kitchen, large spa tub with a great view. The only negative was during checkout. We checked out on Saturday and the office was closed. We didn't really know what to do and calling the express checkout number went to the front desk/office and there was nobody there to answer. We just left and put our keys in the drop box.
