"Great Resort with Tremendous Service But Too Many Hiccups"

8.0

Atlantis has beautiful grounds and truly excellent staff who were consistently friendly and professional throughout our stay. That said, several operational issues impacted the experience. Dinner reservations weren’t available before 8:30 PM nightly. TVs were down for over a day, the shuttle ran less frequently than advertised, and the front desk was very difficult to reach. The spa was under renovation with limited amenities, and pricing felt high, including add-ons during treatments. There were frequent waits for the buffet, elevators, and Starbucks, and one night the hotel ran out of hot water.

"Easy, not luxe"

6.0

It’s a really cool place but the service is terrible at many places and the entire resort seems understaffed. My kids really enjoyed the trip and it was easy in that all the activities and restaurants were on the resort.

"better food and better water at Baha Mar"

2.0

These are all photos of the Baha Mar, which is way better than Atlantis. Atlantis water taste like filtered airport water, blah.. Baha Mar has Reverse osmosis water for anyone that wants it. There is a machine in the picture and you can see what I’m talking about. Their buffet is 10 times better with more flavor and better options. The Poseidon buffet at Atlantis didn’t dully cook their prime rib. everything tasted like cafeteria food. The regatta buffet taste like it was from Las Vegas Vegas. Night and day difference. The Baha mar offered a free Suntan lotion. if you have kids, just get the one day pass for the Atlantis and check out their waterpark. I would not recommend staying there. Their water was really gross You pay for bottled water, which was $10 a liter in a glass bottle. Baha Mar did not sell glass bottled water, but they didn’t need to either because everything was reverse osmosis.

"Most of the water rides were closed and staff shut down the resort an hour before sunset"

2.0

Most of the water rides were closed for 4 of the 5 days we were there. The entire Mayan Temple experience was shut down. On the one day it was open, only 2 of the rides were available. At 5pm, you better be ready to go back to your room. The staff puts all of the chairs at the pools and the beach back at 5pm sharp despite sunset being at 6:04pm. We never had a hot shower at The Reef. One night, the water pressure was so low in the shower that we all had to take baths. Overall, his was a horrible experience despite the premium price we paid to stay there.

"Atlantis going downhill"

6.0

Wow where do I start. I used to love The Atlantis, we have been coming here for years. We stayed February 8 to the 14 th 2026. First all the slides were closed the whole week until the last day. Not acceptable. The restaurant atmosphere is ridiculously loud and way over priced . You can not hear your spouse much less have a conversation. When you’re paying ridiculous prices around 300.00 for two no alcohol. You expect a nice atmosphere. Sea fire and Carmines. We had lukewarm warm water in the morning and around 5 when everyone is getting ready and that was turned all the way hot. Could not take a bath it was to cool. Sliding glass doors way too hard to open. Pools were cold they are not heated. So slides closed and no one swimming in pools. I was very disappointed.

"Nice resort"

6.0

Great resort with lots to do for everyone. Would have liked some better food options. More coffee/sandwich shops. There is only 1 Starbucks between The Reef and The Cove and line ups were crazy. I thought it was a bit expensive to dine there. Perhaps more evening entertainment would be nice.

"Family Trip"

10.0

We had a wonderful family trip, beach is beautiful and clean and loungers are very comfortable. Pool water is cold especially when there has been a few cold days before. There was an entire tower down for maintenance at aqua Ventura which was disappointing but the rapid river is one of the best enjoyments of the whole park! Our room was exceptional at the reef the harbour view allowed us to see dolphins, cruise ships and the beach! Loved having a fridge and ability to cook food in our room.

"Poor experience"

2.0

While I love that there were many dinner options and things to do on Atlantis… the operations there do NOT run smoothly. To name a few, the elevators kept breaking. We were on one when it said “it was experiencing an issue…” everyone’s worst nightmare. Luckily, it corrected and still took us to our floor, but it was broken again later that day. At one point, our cold water in our sink completely went out in our room. Then later that day, the water at the restrooms near the beach went out and we had to walk all the way from the reef to the cove to use a bathroom. The service all over Atlantis was nowhere near ideal for being is the hospitality industry. There were maybe 2-3 people throughout the resort that were good at their jobs and made us feel like valued guests instead of like a burden. The cost of things was also insane, and while we expected expensive, this was another level of expensive. For example, $50-80 for a $5-10 plate of pasta at Carmines is actually insane. Not to mention, there were never enough beach chairs for laying out. There was almost a fight one day at the beach because of it. Lastly, the resort seems to be in need of major repairs. The predator tunnel was closed one day due to what we believe was leaking issues, we could visually see rust and water coming from part of the tunnel once it reopened. The marine life there seems to be not well taken care of… the tanks all look very dirty and in need of serious cleaning/repairs. Honestly, this was one of our least favorite vacations we have taken in years. We will unfortunately probably never be back due to all of these reasons.
