"That view! Room 15-902"

10.0

Where to even start?!?! The Reef is a game changer for our family. This is not negative against The Royal - our past 11 trips have all been at The Royal and we have always had great experiences. The Reef just levels things up for us in so many way! - The vibe is different. It’s a more refined and intimate lobby. There’s spa music and it kind of smells like a spa. The iconic Royal lobby entrance is a must see because it is awesome. The Reef is tasteful and upscaled. - The elevators are fast and efficient. Not sure what the exact difference is in the ratio of elevators to rooms, but it is much less congested than the Royal elevator banks when the resort is busy. - The beach is right there! Out the exit, hang a left, and the magnificent Paradise Beach is right there with ample seating. The beach is beautiful - so are the others on property, but it’s a different feel because there aren’t day pass guests and the seating is only for guests of The Reef and The Cove. - The Cascades pool is right there! The water is the perfect temperature. The pool is exclusively for The Reef and Cove guests so no day pass guests and less crowded. The restrooms are right there and Cascades Grill is there for food. Great setup. - The laundry room in The Reef, again - exclusively for Reef guests - is another game changer. The machines are newer and super efficient. Being able to refresh our swim suits and pack less of the essentials was great. There were a few dads that were hiding out to “watch the laundry” taking a break in the adjacent seating area drinking coffee and looking at their phones. - Starbucks off the lobby! Huge. - Mini version of Plato’s setup outside the elevator bank every morning to grab pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffee, etc. Very nice surprise. - The kitchenette! We got an Ocean View Studio with just a kitchenette. Having the microwave, slightly larger fridge, cook top, dishes and utensils, a blender, etc. is huge for us. We didn’t need a full kitchen, but having the kitchenette was awesome. - The bathroom is at least double the size of the Royal bathroom and significantly upscaled. The standup shower and separate soaker tub are great. The toilet area is much larger and the frosted glass enclosure is much nicer water closet at the Royal. There’s a ton of storage in the double vanity. The bathroom is very nice. One tip for the ladies (or guys - you do you) is bring a makeup light or lighted mirror. The lighting in the bathroom is soft and warm/yellowish. My wife used the magnifying mirror with a light, but would have liked to have a different setup. That will be on our packing list for next visit. - Queen pullout sofa worked great for our son. He was comfortable. Easy to tuck away when we wanted more space. Made up beautifully if we left it out for housekeeping. - THE VIEW and the balcony!!! This is a little bit of a hack. I did a lot of research before picking this unit. In our opinion, the 902 rooms on higher floors are unbeatable for the money. The best Ocean View Studio option for a couple of reasons. 1) It has twice the balcony and it wraps around about six feet giving you an amazing view of the dolphins! Awesome to drink coffee and watch the dolphins play, or get a free dolphin show when they are with the trainers. 2) The view is awesome. You see the ocean from anywhere in the room, looking between The Reef and Cove from the beds and sofa, or between The Cove and Royal from the entrance and kitchenette. Overlooking the beautiful resort grounds and Aquaventure is beautiful. It really is amazing how the water park hides in plain sight as you look over the grounds. The 901 setup is the same, but you look at the cruise ships in port and then have a nice view of the island and ocean. From bed you will see the island. We went with 902 on the higher floors because of the view. I “test drove” the views on Meta Quest VR using the Fly app - pretty cool way to preview it, but real life blows the VR experience away. There are loads of pictures and videos of The Reef Studio rooms online. I’m just going to post pictures and videos of the view. I want to go back and sit on that balcony again as soon as possible!

"Estadia agradable"

9.0

"Don't go"

4.0

Food is VERY pricy and it's very low quality. The Atlantis is better off having a food truck court and letting families get food from third parties not part of the resort. Several slides were under maintenance and we were not given a heads up beforehand. Will never go back. Don't waste the money.

"Would not be my first choice"

4.0

I stayed in the reef and had a one bedroom suite. The perfect in size for a family of 5 which includes 2 children and a nanny. It could have been a comfortable stay. Excepting, we requested a roll away bed on day one. We were told that it would be delivered that same night. Needless to say, I went to the front desk twice per day for 4 days, was told that it will be delivered in a few minutes, spoke with a manager and promised the same thing. It was NEVER delivered until day 5. The king size bed had a mattress that the spring could be felt. It was extremely uncomfortable. I asked for additional padding, that also took days. Just not the type of service that I appreciate.

"Premium Get away with a sub-premium experience."

6.0

Enjoyed the quietness of this area and the kitchenette in the room. Staff service and attitude was a highlight. The shuttle buses made it easy to move between the various hotels and attractions. Overall the weather was great. A few coolish days near the end of Feb but still better than shovelling!! Definitely a premium location with premium pricing. The reason for my 3 score was the practise of guest reserving lounge chairs and then not showing up to use them. They say they have a rule, but it is not enforced. Many guest expressed frustration with this. As well, we had some issues in our room with working lights and appliances.

"Can't recommend based on this vacation."

Great resort with poor service. Pools only open 9-5. Spa under renovation so they're using a converted hotel room yet no discounts for lack of showers, sauna, etc. Staff is complacent.

"Great family trip with young kids."

10.0

We had a great trip with our two young children, 3 and 6. There were enough activities to keep them entertained for weeks. They especially loved the shallow pool at the reef, aquaadventure park, the Dig and all of the marine life, and the reef and cove beaches. They even enjoyed walking through the casino (the adult arcade) and marine village each night. The sand and water at the beaches were beautiful with enough wave action for them to have fun and stay safe. There are towels available everywhere which is very convenient but get out early for a chair as most are claimed for the day by 9am. The food and water is expensive and we didn’t find the food to be high end for the price, to be expected through for the convenience. Check a bag full of snacks when you come. There is plenty of food for the kids during the day around the pool stands with chicken nuggets, pizza, and PB&J. The rooms and buildings were beautiful, everything was clean and maintained extremely well and the staff was all very friendly and helpful, especially with the kids.
