GrandStay Hotel and Conference

Seemed nice, but closer inspection revealed cracked tiles, dirty wallls, a dried up contact on the bathroom floor, and some rubbery substance on the toilet lid. Plus, the pool had caution tape around it, horrible layout for breakfast.

We booked here so kids could swim but the pool was closed. The room had no hot water in the evening. The tub wasn’t cleaned well. No trays to carry breakfast on to room. Front desk wasn’t staffed in the morning to check out.

Booking said it had pool and weight room. The pool was closed the whole time and the weight room was a cheap tread mill and cheap stationery bike. Room is nice just be aware they lie about the things they have.

Room and building was obviously not kept up super well. It was nice layout and room size was excellent

Good location, quiet, restaurant attached

There are only a few (but sort of critical for both functionality and aesthetic…) things with this property and I’ll quickly list the issues then pros! Two holes in the door, hairdryer was literally in pieces like someone tore apart wiring and plastic? Drawer in our kitchenette very clearly broken and falling off. The pool was down, no chlorine. We were told we could use LA fitness with a day pass showing we were guests at the hotel. Pros- HUGE suite. Full bathtub and shower, separate from the jacuzzi, and this could space-wise, have easily been two bedrooms or even three. Large sq footage, ice maker in the fridge so we didn’t have to hunt. The layout of the hotel is easily walkable, no long halls, easy parking, check in seamless and staff was AMAZING. The pullout bed was the nicest I have seen from a sturdiness standpoint, it was leather and lots of Velcro so things all had to place including the pillows. Except, it does not go up like a normal pull out couch. It took us a half an hour to figure it out. We are mechanical people, this was a special situation. The bottom, half of the mattress had no support and it was clearly broken.Held together by straps that would’ve been used maybe for a car, so we tied it up with those because nothing was attached and stacked pillows underneath to hold the mattress up. Overall, I was there myself with two children, the master bedroom was absolutely massive, there were three huge TVs in the suite, the king bed in the master was a dream!

I get that it is a budget room for cheap stays, but at least clean on top of surfaces. This time I woke up at 4am to the sound of progressively paced tapping noises. Upon inspection found light fixture above entry door leaking water on the floor. Soon after, the smome detector joined in. At 5am I have 2 trash bins collecting water and the manager does not get in until after 6.

Key cards would reset no matter what I would or where I would put them, told not to put in my wallet which seems odd since it is a card and I’ve done this at other hotels no problem, very inconvenient had to make several trips to the front desk at times no one was at the front desk, toilet would stop working periodically in the room good thing I’m a plumber I would fix it, breakfast not good, bacon way undercooked muffin stale few selections, the whole 3rd floor smelled strong of marijuana really strong! Nice room layout bathroom is in need of a complete redo

We’ve stayed there multiple times while visiting family in the area. The condition of the hotel and rooms has gone down hill. No glasses for beverages in the room, dishwasher not unloaded, no smoke detector in bedroom, smelt like ‘weed’ was being smoked on the floor. Staff was great. Management and overall needs improvement.

Convenient location close to many restaurants and shopping.
