Hampton Inn & Suites Corsicana

I’d give this less stars but I was told there is new management that knows some work needs to be done. I’m here for a second week (unfortunately), but I’ll start with last week where I was on the third floor (king bed with shower). Large room, but not much furniture. Week 1: 1. The shower - if you step anywhere in the shower, it sounds like you’re stepping on old wooden creaky steps or cracking glass. It sounds unsafe. The ceiling needs repair. There are some spots where the caulking is moldy and needs to be redone. 2. Small old tv - for the room size, it’s super small. Forget about streaming - it won’t let you because it’s probably too old. 3. Housekeeping - threw away a receipt I needed for work, but did not toss the torn sweetener packet on the same bathroom counter. Day 1 I figured out that not only was the body wash completely empty - so was the shampoo. 4. On my third evening, I came to the room to find my key didn’t work. Not a big deal until day 4, using the same key and again, it did not work. I travel weekly, and I know how to keep my hotel card keys (the mobile app to open the door doesn’t work). At this point, I wasn’t super happy when I told the manager I must be having the worst luck. He initially suggested I should maybe go to the local carnival for funnel cake. Week 2. 1. After letting the manager last week know how I was not happy with how everything was going, he said he would take care of it. That wasn’t done as far as I’m concerned. I am in a queen bed room where the room is smaller, with a small tv. This time I looked and snapped a picture - the tv is from 2007. 2. After coming in after work on day 2, I realized trash was not removed from the room, but the towels were. They were not replaced. I’m on day 3 and I see the room was cleaned. I’m just happy my stay is almost over.

Just a one night stay for our family and we had no complaints. Everything seemed clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good with sausage and eggs and some good breakfast potatoes. They had the standard waffles that none of us should have but we will because they’re just so good. Bonus points for the blueberry batter option but kind of disappointing that they didn’t have the Texas shape! ;) Only issue we had was the commode seat was loose but my husband fixed that quickly.

Refrigerator and toilet in room both making constant noise. Was probably and really nice hotel in it's day but it well worn.

Neither elevators were functioning. Room TV was not functional. Room smoke detector failed during the night and chirped until we left the room. Facility is not representative of what one would expect for a Hilton branded business.

Our room was huge and very nice. The staff were all great. We went to view the Solar Eclipse - which we did from the facility parking lot - and got spectacular views. So convenient to not have to drive anywhere. And for us, the hotel was not just ideally located, but extremely nice and very reasonably priced - especially considering that a lot of properties were significantly inflating their nightly charges due to the eclipse.

The hotel staff was helpful and pleasant. The room was livable. The free breakfast was good.

They canceled my reservation because I checked in after midnight and had to make another reservation and pay twice!!😡

Awful. Ck in took a hour. Desk clerk could not ck me in due to the fact I used reward points for stay. Could not use my conformation number to prove my reservation

This hotel is not very maintained, wallpaper was coming loose, the doors was dragging on the carpet. We got a handicapped, most of the have a removable shower head for taking shower. This one didn’t.

I booked an accessible room. I was given a room on the third floor. It was NOT accessible. Nice,clean but NOT accessible. I called down to the front desk and asked if they had an accessible room available as this one was not. They said for me to come down to the front desk, get a key to a room on the fourth floor and check it out and see for myself. I refused and went down and asked what they considered accessible and two staff members just looked at each other. I asked what someone in a wheelchair would do. They said they had a room for a wheelchair person! I asked where it was and they said someone was staying there so it was not available. At that point, I felt like they were the least considerate and helpful staff I had ever dealt with so I drove across a short road to Holiday Inn where I had a lovely two nights! I usually like Holiday Inn the best but I read a rating of the hotels in Corsicana and the Hampton had the higher rating which is why I chose it AND said it had accessible rooms. Not true. Please consider this a complaint!
