The staff is absolutely amazing. Pat in the Horizon Club Lounge was professional and efficient checking us in. The property is absolutely stunning and this is where we plan to stay ever time we visit Chiang Mai.

Excellent location. Peaceful convenient spot. Beautiful pool. Horizon club is worth the extra. Staff could not do enough (particular thanks to Noah but there were may) and great quality food and drinks in the lounge. Premium room with lounge space of good quality. Of the two we stayed in get room 1001 if you can (rather than 1004) , really spacious and felt luxurious although both nice. Great sunset views of the mountain.

As always, the Shangri-la is the place to go to be pampered. The staff seem to anticipate your every need. It is comfortable, spacious, and provides just the right tint of luxury.

My hotel experience was PURE PERFECTION! My stay began with hotel reserved car service from the airport that was waiting for me as I exited the baggage area. This was extremely important as a woman travelling alone and arriving at about midnight. The driver was kind and considerate. I checked in at the front desk with Sara who went above and beyond to make my stay extraordinary. My reservation included a spa treatment that I inadvertently forgot to schedule. Sara graciously offered to schedule it on my behalf. I happened to arrive the day before my birthday and Sara noticed this detail from my passport. I had a massage on my birthday with Mae and it was so relaxing that I completely fell asleep which I rarely do during a massage. I was gifted with a body scrub and wished a happy birthday which caught me off guard. I then went to my room where I discovered that the hotel surprised me with a birthday cake, roses, and a rose petal bath that I encountered upon my return to my room. IT WAS A PLEASANT SURPRISE that made my birthday very special. I felt celebrated and pampered. It was the best hotel experience EVER! The fact that I later learned that Sara requested the surprise for me warmed my heart. As a practical matter I also felt extremely safe noticing the hotel security cameras throughout the property. I highly recommend this hotel for safety and service. The daily breakfast options provided a great variety with high quality. The Khoa Soi was the best I had during my Thailand visit. I subsequently stayed at the Millennium Hilton in Bangkok, but wished I had kept my original Shangri La Bangkok reservation based on the brand impression made during this visit. I completed my Thailand journey at the Four Points at Patong. Needless to say each hotel had its own flair, but the Shangri La Chiang Mai, has my heart forever. I look forward to returning.
