Lovely relaxing stay in calm welcoming environment. Can’t fault the service or facilities

Wonderful hotel with excellent facilities. Had a couple of relaxing days, loved the steam and sauna. Would have liked separate changing facilities for men and. Women. Very good breakfast, would be better if it was open til later than 9.30. Excellent room facilities, very clean. I just had a very lumpy pillow! Mat daughter’s was fine. Restaurant food, glad we went one evening. Very tasty and god variety.

Extremely pleasant stay - staff were so friendly and helpful it was a breath of fresh air. Great food and we will definitely stay again.

The TV is very outdated but lovely scenery and nice getaway

My partner and I recently stayed at Horwood House Hotel for a Valentine's Day getaway. The hotel is tucked away in a peaceful, green setting, offering a quiet retreat perfect for a romantic break. They were nice enough to upgrade for special Valentine's Day£30, which included petals on the bed, strawberries, and a glass of champagne. BUT we only got the petals. The spa, unfortunately, was a bit of a disappointment. It was clearly not designed to accommodate a large number of guests, with the sauna and steam room being particularly small. The space for relaxation in the actual spa area was minimal, and the pool was cold during our stay. However, there is a separate section of the spa that provides a charming relaxation area, complete with a cozy space for breakfast if you choose to enjoy that as part of your package. We had a 20-minute head massage in one of the treatment rooms, which was a lovely experience. I found it to be relaxing, although the squeaky beds made it difficult to fully unwind. The dining experience at the hotel was a highlight. Upon arrival, we enjoyed drinks and snacks at the bar, which had a great atmosphere. we ordered a pizza from Domino's on the first night convenient, but we were disappointed to find that room service was left outside our door for an extended period of time, from evening until the morning. we enjoyed an afternoon tea in the hotel restaurant, which was a lovely treat. the restaurant was elegant and classy food was delicious

I think a premier inn room is better value for money as rooms are larger, showers good and beds larger and more comfy including pillows.

This is a beautiful place to stay and I can imagine in the summer the gardens will be wonderful. Our room was very quiet but it did get really warm, so I can understand why there was a fan in the room. The staff were very friendly. We used the gym and pool area too - the gym was very well stocked with lots of machines, however I do wonder how often it's cleaned/serviced because some of the machines definitely needed it. The pool was great, as were the sauna and steam room, but I can imagine it getting quite busy in there (luckily we went on a Monday afternoon and it was quiet). The breakfast was buffet style with lots of choices of things to eat, and the staff were always keeping an eye on what needed topping up etc. We would definitely stay here again. Perfectly located because you are in the middle of nowhere so it's very peaceful, but close enough to drive to plenty of places around the three counties/London.

Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Enjoyed the spa but feel there are not enough changing rooms for busier sessions. Meal in restaurant was tasty. Staff were polite, professional and helpful. Would be happy to stay again if we are ever in that area.

I enjoyed a lovely solo night away at Horwood house. The pool area is nice but busy at peak times, so I didn’t make use of the steam room and sauna this time. I had an issue with my room upon checking in but the staff were quick to resolve the issue and made sure to check in with me later in the day to ensure I was happy with everything. Staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing felt like too much trouble. I stayed in a classic double room and it was mostly clean. The bathroom could to with a bit of TLC and a deep clean. The room itself could perhaps do with a lick of paint in some areas. As a regular gym goer the gym is amazing for a hotel gym ! On the whole I had a very enjoyable stay and I will definitely be coming back again soon.
