Horwood House Hotel

Very nice

Peaceful and relaxing stay, the bed was really comfortable.

This is a beautiful place. The staff were very helpful and professional and the room was very comfortable. I would love to come back again

Really nice 48 hours at Horwood House, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming - we have a young child so we were keen to make sure that we got two rooms that were conjoining, which they dealt with superbly. The rooms were big and comfortable, and the grounds were beautiful. Was great to get out and walk around on a beautiful day. The food was good, with prices being comparable to most hotel restaurants. Good, friendly service. The gym was a little disapointing - just a small room tucked away, but the pool and the spa facilities were great. Next time we visit the area, we'd re-book

Fantastic and beautiful place

Truly wonderful staff, but room was a little disappointing (miles from reception, very small, a shower that didn't work). I will say it again though, staff were all amazing!!!

Likes- Original building and surroundings. Room. Food was good. Facilities. Not so liked. - Poor communication prior to arrival, multiple messages sent, zero replies. - A Spa should be a quiet sanctuary for adults, but from 9-10am and 4-6pm it turns into a council leisure centre for hyped up children. That spoiled the stay for us, as we had to wait all day to actually use the Spa (by the time we checked in and got settled in the room there was no point using the Spa as the kids were going to pile in at 4pm). No one told us that before arrival or at check in. THAT IS NOT A PROPER SPA! Then you have dinner, and after that who can go to a Spa! I was all set to recommend family members to stay but there’s no way they would enjoy that. If I’d paid for a Spa package I’d have been livid! Lots to enjoy about the place but having screaming kids and the so many people in the small Spa area is not for me. - The food was really nice but the menu was extremely limited for Coeliac sufferers. I’d recommend eating out at local pubs and restaurants, there’s a lot more on offer.

Beautiful hotel which I would definitely recommend. Booked a standard double which was adequate for what we needed for our one night stay (on the small side but anticipated). Access to spa facilities included as a guest was a great extra (although sauna and steam room were very small) and the beautiful grounds make staying here that much better. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The only downside is that service at dinner, despite not being busy, was very slow and the doors between rooms and corridor do not block any noise at all so it can be quite loud particularly when the hotel is busy.

It was ok. My only criticism is staff should treat all customers the same. Eg, sauna and steam, swimming. We were not show where to go we had to ask but then, I noticed whilst being in there 2 couples came after us and were shown where certain things were.
