This was the best luxury, adults-only resort that I have been to in Mexico. The food was exquisite and did not taste like resort food. It was intimate and the staff was wonderful. If you can get their private boat from the Renaissance directly to the resort (and back), then stay here!

This is my first time writing a review but I felt the need to show what kind of impression this hotel had on me. I booked a weekend trip here for my wife's birthday and from the beginning the staff were extemely friendly and nice! They were very thoughtful with asking if there was a special occasion and I let them know it was for my wives birthday and they set up a cake in the room which surprised her and added a nice touch to the trip. The food was really good. Everything taste freshly made and came out quickly. This kind of food

The resort had a good layout and the space felt open and was really well designed compared to other resorts. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The vibe is really chill. Not a party resort vibe. The food was fantastic. Almost upscale dining level. Even the service was great. Personally I didn’t mind only having 1 or 2 restaurant options for each meal but I can see how that could be a bummer for some. Drinks were great although inconsistent in quality depending which bar you order from. Activities were cool and felt creative. Did a sunrise walking tour of the island where we walked a portion of the island coast and saw a bunch of sea turtles. There was a cool cooking class. And dancing which we missed. There were many guests when we were there which was nice but it would be nice if it felt a small bit busier and a bit livelier. Unfortunately we noticed someone went through our things in our room on the second day and had stolen a small amount of cash, about 600 pesos and 30 Canadian Dollars (not enough to be worth getting upset about and ruining the trip so we just let it go). We think it was likely housekeeping, but I guess impossible to know for sure. In hind sight we should have put it in the safe. Lastly it’s a great little boutique resort to relax for a few days. The food is much better than your average resort but less options. You may be repeating dishes if you are there for more than 5 days.

5 Stars – Unforgettable Stay at Almare Resort! We had an amazing time at Almare Resort! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was incredible—relaxing, vibrant, and full of good energy. The food and drinks were top-tier, but what truly set this trip apart was the staff. Everyone was so warm, welcoming, and always smiling, making us feel like we were right at home. The property itself is stunning—beautiful views, spotless grounds, and a peaceful vibe throughout. Special shoutout to Alan and a few others on the team who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Their hospitality truly made the difference. Without a doubt, I’ll be returning at least a few times a year. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a perfect getaway!
