Winston Lodge

It was a nice location. The lodge was clean and comfortable. It was quiet since due to the time of year. Hot tub and sauna were a nice addition.

I expected a breakfast buffet, rather than packaged muffins, cereal and toast.

The beds were extremely comfortable! The room was very clean, and the towels and bath robes were soft and fluffy.

We never saw one staff member during our stay. It felt like we were in a ghost hotel. It was really quite strange! Breakfast was totally uninspiring! The coffee machine was a nightmare to operate and there were no operating instructions and no staff to assist. The restaurant on the Winston is closed but luckily 'The Jeffrey' next door at the Copper Horse Lodge was open. Otherwise it's a 10Km run down the mountain to other restaurants. FYI check out the Copper Horse Lodge, it looked nice and there was a person in the lobby to greet you. Also their breakfast fare looked more upscale.

We were there just after the winter season and had the whole lodge for our selves.

Room was exactly as described, clean and cozy. While the on site staff presence is limited, they provide an excellent level of service, keeping a warm fire going in the evenings and convenient breakfast options in the morning.

The hotel was very peaceful, with comfortable rooms and excellent amenities such as the coffee and hot tub. The on-site staff member, Rowan, was friendly and a pleasure to deal with. We would gladly stay again!

Roan was brilliant!!! Couldn't gave been a better host... useful local info. Interested in where we had been and made the whole stay perfect 👌
