Sea Watch Resort

This property offers several advantages that make it appealing at first glance. The beachfront location is excellent, with attractive ocean views and convenient access to nearby shopping and restaurants. Rates are relatively affordable compared to other oceanfront properties in the area, and complimentary parking is a nice benefit. However, the condition of the unit I occupied left much to be desired. The décor is significantly dated, with furnishings that appear to be several decades old. Overall cleanliness was concerning; surfaces felt grimy, and there was a noticeable, unpleasant odor in the unit upon arrival. In the bathroom, caulking was missing in places, and I discovered used towels that had not been removed prior to check-in. Additionally, brooms and dustpans were stored openly inside the unit. Although the listing advertises a full kitchen, basic essentials were not provided. There were no trash cans or trash bags, no dishwashing sponge or liquid, and no paper towels, making the kitchen impractical for actual use. Maintenance issues were also evident, including peeling paint in several areas. The layout of the one-bedroom unit is particularly problematic. The bedroom shares a wall with the exterior corridor used by guests to access their rooms. While there is a window in the bedroom, it faces this corridor, requiring the curtains to remain closed for privacy. As a result, the room receives little to no natural light and feels confined. Additionally, hallway noise is easily heard at night when guests return to their rooms, which impacts sleep quality. It is worth noting that individual units appear to be maintained by different owners or management firms, so conditions may vary. However, that variability makes booking somewhat uncertain, and I would prefer not to take a chance on inconsistent standards. In summary, while the location and price point are strong positives, the condition, cleanliness concerns, design limitations, and lack of consistency across units significantly detract from the overall experience.

My husband and and I recently spent 4 nights at Sea Watch Resort on our way home from Florida. We had a 1 bedroom oceanfront condo. Very clean, quiet, parking garage right adjacent to our tower (which is nice because that isn't always the case). Making reservations, checking in, checking out very smooth. Friendly hotel staff. Restaurant on site for breakfast and lunch. Great breakfast buffet! Two lazy rivers, a few hot tubs, 6 pools, 2 of which are enclosed and heated for the winter, which is nice because they offered water aerobics, even though it was cold outside! There is a wonderful activities program. Crafts, bingo, trivia - something for everyone. And a welcoming, friendly activities team to make sure you enjoy those experiences!!

SeaWatch/Wyndam are the friendliest staff I have been around. It is actually fun to stay at SeaWatch. The Olympic size indoor pool was around 88 which was perfect even though outdoor temperature were in the 20s. But what makes SeaWatch fun especially in the winter is Wyndam activity program. Water aerobics is the best I have experienced.But other activities are fun too such as bingo, karaoke, trivia, Texas hold ‘em, potluck. They have arts and craft, excursions to nearby towns like Calabash, Merrill’s Inlet, Conway etc. indoor hot tub was fun. Even the maintenance crew is outstanding.

Picked 817 in the South Tower. Unit was beautiful! Completely updated and stocked with everything we needed. Balcony is huge. We spent so much time watching the dolphins! Then hit the firepit in the evenings! Can't wait to go again. Love that I can pick what unit I want. Highly recommend 817 South Tower.

Location perfect but the room was dirty and outdated

Room needed repairs. Towels had dirt streaks, just didn't appear clean but old and outdated

The accessibility of the beach.

Needs Renovation and Maintenance The room felt outdated and in need of renovation. The carpet was dirty, one of the TVs didn’t work, and the sofa bed was both uncomfortable and broken at the head. Overall, the space didn’t meet expectations in terms of comfort or upkeep.

Just the location

It was outdated, overpriced, dirty - specifically the towels and bedsheets. I would not return unless it was renovated and that’s still a maybe. Nothing like the pictures and felt I definitely overpaid for what the ratings show and recent reviews. I will not recommend or return.
