The Frangipani Langkawi Resort & Spa

Lovely stay, would recommend for all. Special call out to Naz at the hotel bar, super service, lovely and great fun. All the staff we a joy to be around and very helpful.

Very pleasant resort, room was very good, but the level of service was terrible. The staff were not trained. Could not get served in the bar, even though I was the only customer, the 3 staff were gossiping together and ignored their customer. When I finally got served the waitress didn't even know what white wine was! They tried to charge me extra for the use of a wine bucket. Restaurant staff were the same, breakfast "chef" didn't know how to poach an egg!! and one station was closed because the chef didn't show up for work. Room cleaning service was very good.

Given check in time was 3pm and we arrived 3.30pm we still had a long wait to get into a room. We had booked a deluxe room with double bed. We got to single beds individually made with sides tucked in, so no chance of holding partner in bed. We have encountered to singles pushed together previously but in those instances they used large sheets and covers to make it appear as one bed. A lot of mosquitoes and no control exercised by management so they were everywhere. Expressed my dissatisfaction and management didn't acknowledge or even say sorry.

I just stay one night and assign a room near the corner room for me. The view is superb and can see the sunset. Breakfast is good also

very pleasant hotel, with its own beach, salt water and fresh water pools, bar, restaurant, small gym and spa the bungalows are spread out in a lush garden and the staff is very friendly. lounge by the sea under the shade of umbrellas fairly priced

Our 3rd time in Langkawi and whereas in previous years we stayed to the north of the main drag we thought it was getting over developed and so chose to go to the south, this was a wise decision as a lot of roadworks are taking place along the northern part of the main road. The hotel has a mix of villas and rooms, pools, restaurant, bar, all as described on the hotel website, all good. We stayed 25 nights in a villa and while there was good breakfast variety, nicely cooked, it got boring towards the end, this is not a problem with the hotel, we normally stay 25 days to a month on holiday and we allways get bored with the hotel breakfasts which is why we generally eat our main meals externally. The invitations to a cocktail party were nice, the manager and department heads chatted, asked if there were any problems, arranged a late room departure for our last day and seemed interested in our comments, a very good idea! Bar prices fine, bar, breakfast and reception staff very good and attentive, eco-walk interesting. Wi-fi now installed, strong signal and fast! Summary - Great holiday, just too short (they allways are), we hope to return to Langkawi and Frangipani will be our first choice of hotel.
