The Frangipani Langkawi Resort & Spa

It was amazing

I really liked that the Frangiapani was a short walk away from the action - it really allowed us to relax for our weekend there. The amenities were good and the staff friendly and helpful

Very polite and courteous staff.. excellent location.. nice buffet breakfast.. only downer is that the place has too many mosquito and insects and the hotel did not provide an electronic/ Electric insect repellent even After repeated requests

Stayed here last year and returned this year. One of the best hotels at Pantai Cenang and two beaches to wander along

The beach side setting is great. Breakfast and dinner watching the sun brilliant. The hotel is however not what it appears to have been two or three years ago. Tired I would say covers it. People we spoke with who had been before confirmed that this was the case. My biggest complaint is that I emailed the day before we were due to arrive asking for a taxi to be arranged to collect us from the port. The reply I received was that they needed seven days notice to do this! Quite unbelievable considering that they were able to summon up taxis within minutes during our stay. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The lady organising trips was especially so.

Very warm and comfortable place, nice people. Excellent place for small kids n families. Private beach is very clean and not at all crowded. Sky sailing right next door, along with jet scooter rentals. Good but limited food menu, but you have multiple & varied restaurant options right on the main street within 200m walking distance. Overall a very nice and relaxing experience.

This hotel is located in a great location. It is only about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from Langkawi airport and a 10-15 minute walk away from the main Cenang area. There are quite a few good local eateries nearby the hotel too. The main plusses of the Frangipani are 1) location (it is situated in a peaceful/quiet/semi-secluded spot but still within walking distance of the busy Cenang strip), 2) the semi-private beach (with a handy jellyfish net that does a pretty good job of keeping out the little critters during jellyfish season), 3) well-maintained gardens and comfortable surroundings and 4) rather generous buffet breakfasts. The staff we encountered at the Frangipani were all extremely friendly and courteous. If you're looking for a clean, casual, comfortable, no-frills resort in a good location with a quiet beach then you can't go too far wrong with the Frangipani.

Pros: decent breakfast. Decent beach cons: disappointing experience. Don't have most of the necessary amenities. Didn't abide to their timings in regard to swimming pool. Always heard "NO", even if you ask for ice. Housekeeping didn't bother to change towels, had to request them again. Even basic stuff is not done right. I will never return and will never recommend to anyone. Certainly not a 3 or 4 star hotel.

This was my second stay at this resort. I chose a sea view villa this time instead of a garden view and was disappointed with the view. We had a sliver of the see between two villas that were actually sea view. To me there was not enough difference between this villa and a garden view to justify the additional charge. The beach , pool , restaurant and bar areas are nice and the service there is good. Overall it's a very nice place to relax and very laid back. I always enjoy the musicians that entertain in the evening, they interact well with the guests. The front desk staff could be a little more efficient on checking in and out.
