Great location, very short walk to mountain railway. Friendly helpful staff. They are upgrading the old hotel slowly, some great history and architecture in the building. room could have been a bit cleaner; stupid sensor light for bathroom goes out after 5 mins!! Please go back to a simple light switch!

Perfect location for visiting Snowdonia mountain railway with good facilities.

When I checked in, the person at the reception showed the stairs and said my room was in the second floor. There no lifts visible in the lobby area, and I did not ask if there was any (big mistake). After a long journey and with a luggage and other items in my hands a little help to the room would have been great. This is a dated property. The small room (as named) was very small and too hot inside. Bar staff served my order without any facial expression. I am pleased to say that staff at the breakfast restaurant were attentive.

My room was clean however the paint was flaking off above the shower and on the bathroom window. More of a matinence thing than cleanliness but I deducted a star for this. Cobweb in bathroom window, and fibres on the carpet that stuck to some velcro. The distance from the bed to the nearest 2 sockets was a bit of a issue I need to wear a CPAP therapy machine. There was no sweetener in the tea and coffee facilities in my room, however there was at breakfast I don't know if this was just an oversight or if they don't routinely put them in the rooms. Breakfast was good with a good range of Gluten free food including GF cereal, GF bread and dairy free milk. Cooked breakfast also available the way they serve their jam leaves it open to cross contamination from people touching their bread with the spoon. I would suggest little tubs?
