nice place, very quiet and easy access to the bus line. My only concern (as a firefighter) was doors to the second floor chocked open which would contribute to serious smoke spread in case of a fire.
Good service but you pay for what you get. Recommend if you are on a budget. Overall was OK.
This is my second time staying at the Pembroke Inn. It is a good hotel and has good amenities. The price is low for Toronto and within walking distance to a lot of places. The room was ok and had some good amenities. The lobby was nice and always had free coffee which was great. The staff is amazing and go out of their way to meet your expectations. They make the hotel great. The only downside to this hotel (and it is not the hotels fault at all) but the street it is on is not very inviting. I know there is nothing they can do about it. There are unfavourable people hanging out on the street. I guess this is a Toronto problem. Once inside the hotel though I always felt very safe. I will definitely stay there again if I have to go to Toronto in the future.
Quaint lodging with a very friendly and helpful staff. Maybe not in the most convenient part of town but not far enough removed that local city tranportation wasn't sufficient to easily get around. Enjoyed the stay!
Quiet and clean stay in downtown Toronto on a budget. The location was very walkable to restaurants, night life, transit and parks. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I travelled here with a friend to see a concert in town. We stayed for three nights and would stay here again. Some of the reviews on here stated that the area was a bit dicey but we had no issues at all walking back during the day or night. There are interesting characters in any major city in the downtown area so it was nothing out of the ordinary. If you’re looking for something simple, quiet and with great service in downtown Toronto, stay here!

Shower didn’t drain in a timely manner
Our stay was great. Couple of improvements better pillows, add powder creamer to room, mirror in bedroom, door on bathroom did not close easily. Also it would be nice to dim the lights in the bedroom. Staff was friendly and room was clean and in a nice residential district
The shower was mouldy, the fridge seal was broken. The parking is limited. Would return if cleaning improved.
There were many positives about the staff and property. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay, giving advice on taxis, room delivery etc. The room was very clean and I loved having the coffee dispenser in my room. The bedding was comfortable. The main issue is that the location was not suitable for a solo female traveller. There were many homeless men loitering and sleeping on the streets as well as people taking drugs in the surrounding area so I felt very unsafe and uneasy. This meant that I avoided going out in the evening.
