Hotel Tirreno

This hotel has to be one of the most friendly I have ever stayed in. Nothing is too much trouble. Every member of the team was always smiling and ready to help. Bar staff. Room attendants. Life guard. Restaurant staff and reception. Minibus transport to the beach and nearby town is laid on free of charge. The food was magnificent. Stefania is simply lovely and Gianni made our days start with a smile at breakfast. They all work so hard and seem to have tons of energy. Thanks for a fabulous stay in such a comfortable and clean hotel complex. Like a little village.

We had a junior suite with sea view and the view was superb. The terrace was large and could easily accommodate us and other family members staying at the hotel. The pool area and the grounds are very well kept. All of the staff were brilliant and there was a real family feel to the hotel. The nearby town is a 5 minute walk away and the American Bar has great coffee, ice cream and snacks.

There was anything I didn’t like about the hotel. It has maybe seen better days in some respects. We went B&B only and ate mostly in the restaurant next to the hotel or in Tropea. We did eat dinner once in the dining hall but felt it lacked atmosphere. Having said that other family members enjoyed their meals there.

check in was friendly and efficient .Stephine made us feel very welcome . She provided us with all of the information required for our stay in the area . The room was spacious and comfortable The pool area clean and lots of sun loungers . shuttle bus to the beach and into Tropea . They also provide a shuttle service to and from the train station which we didn't know when we arrived in Parghelia train station but availed of it on departure . Breakfast excellent .

The shuttle service into Tropea starts at 7.15 pm . Perhaps a shuttle service starting slightly earlier might be an idea . It wasn't a big issue as we got a taxi into Tropea .

Fantastic location. Great friendly and helpful staff. Free shuttle to town and beach. Beach is walkable distance. Large patio outside room if you get a room facing pool it’s well worth it. We got a free upgrade.

The staff were awesome! Helped with all our needs. Pool and pool bar were a lot of fun. 6 minute walk to Parghelia. A lovely town with groceries, ATM and restaurants. Beach was gorgeous and plenty of umbrellas. Independent beach bar with drinks and food was good.

Hotel shuttle runs only every hour during the day to the beach and then in the evening to Tropea. It’s not on demand. It’s a 30 minute walk to Tropea uphill and or stairs. It’s on a hilltop. If you can’t walk long distance use the shuttle or car service. The beach is a 15 minute walk downhill there and uphill back! Mostly on a sidewalk. I did not see handicap access but I really wasn’t looking for it.

Michele and Stephanie were incredible! They were so helpful and treated us so well. The breakfast was excellent and the pool was great. The private beach was the highlight for me for this hotel in particular. I would have loved if the shuttle to and from Tropea ran a bit earlier so we could go during the day. Wonderful place! I would recommend Hotel Tirreno to anyone!

I would have liked the shuttle to run more frequently to Tropea.
