Hotel Tirreno

What can I say ….. this hotel is fantastic. We had a poolside room - very comfy beds and great shower. Pool and pool bar excellent - no waiting for loungers. The private beach section with complimentary sun beds was welcome along with the shuttle bus to get you there and back. Great breakfast - very fresh - and enough choice for all tastes on the evening meal. The standout though is the staff at the hotel - they cannot do enough for the guests and all done with a smile. Just perfect 👌🏻

We booked the holiday through TUI as we thought it would be an ideal location to celebrate a special birthday. The Hotel is set back nicely off a quiet road. Upon arrival we received a pleasant welcome and were shown to a Junior suite which had a nice size terrace, plenty of chairs and a view of the mountain. Room was of a good size, very simple but functional. The air-con was very effective and well received due to the current high temperature and humidity. Lovely well kept gardens, a good size pool with its own bar facilities. The staff were all so polite and helpful, a special recognition to the wonderful Vincenzo on reception. The room maids did an exemplary job. The package included half board. Breakfast was very nice and plenty of variety. However we did notice that they never replenished many of the items, quite some time before scheduled closing time. The evening meal was ala carte. After a delayed arrival, was quite hungry and the portions were notably smaller than I would have expected. Saying that, the quality of the food was very good and a reasonable turn around of variety. The staff had an excellent knowledge of the wines to recommend. It is quiet and relaxed, no music. Both breakfast and evening meal are served in the wonderful garden. No trousers required for the gentlemen, which was nice. The Hotel has its own beach which is just a 10 minute walk along the road. This has its own area designated for the Hotel guests. There are plenty of beds and umbrellas but did notice customers using more than their allotted pair to avoid the sun. Has its own lifeguard as did all the sectioned bed areas. Super beach with a lovely view of nearby Tropea. Well serviced by restaurants and bars. There is also a company that does a wonderful boat/snorkelling excursion from the beach. Tropea is just up the road and we walked there and back twice during our weeks stay. Depending on your pace, it will take you up to 25 minutes to walk bearing in mind the temperature. Once there you can climb the first set of stairs, 199 in all to arrive at this wonderful historic town. It has the most superb beach and the clearest of water. There are supermarkets in Parghelia within a few minutes walk. This was a lovely holiday at the Tirreno but note some things had room for improvement. No recognition of Birthdays or Celebrations, or so it appears. The reception even with the best will, did get busy sometimes as its only small and invariably manned by a solitary member of staff. The pool doesn't have sufficient umbrellas to go round and in the heat we experienced, its not really practical. Plenty of beds though. Water is very warm. The Hotel courtesy bus is seemingly disproportionately scheduled for the beach, which is walk-able, however the town would be a better option in the day, but was only serviced in the evening during meal times. Felt that it was frowned upon to take some water from the large container at breakfast for our small bottle. Would return to this Hotel and this wonderful area.

This is an amazing hotel. Everything about it is wonderful- staff, food, location, rooms, pool area and relaxing atmosphere. We can't wait to revisit.

Small Family run hotel was lovely staff amazing and always ready to help , hotel spotlessly clean Food was good most of the time just a couple of days not to our choice Good location shuttle bus to beach and local town Hotel is on a slope so you need to be able bodied Train station 15 min walk highly recommend as you can go to a lot of places further away and cheap fares buy your tickets from the Tobaco shop in Parghelia Would we go again yes definitely !!

This was the second time there. It is a great hotel. All the staff are lovely. The food is excellent, the swimming pool is beautiful and always warm and the shuttle service is extremely good. Chairs and umbrellas on the beach free. Stefanie was extremely helpful with booking our onward travel. I cannot find anything to fault the hotel with. There are many people that return.

We spent a delightful two weeks at Hotel Tirreno, near the historic cliff-top town of Tropea. The service was very friendly, the room (with seaview) very tasteful and comfortable and the food excellent. The hotel has a lovely private beach and an excellent pool. There is a shuttle to the beach. We would have liked a regular daytime shuttle to Tropea - which is an awkward walk - as the night-time shuttle was too late for us after dinner and there are no buses. Overall, being in Calabria was a new and rewarding experience and we would love to return.

My partner I visited for a week in June and to be honest, did not want to leave. From the moment we arrived we were looked after impeccably by all the staff from Stefania, the owner, the restaurant & bar staff, housekeeping ladies, lifeguard & the shuttle bus young man. This is place for us was like finding a little piece of heaven. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and set in stunning grounds. The rooms are outstanding and really big with everything you need, safe, fridge, hairdryer etc. We went half board and could not fault the food at all. The choice at breakfast is plentiful and then you are asked to choose your evening meals in advance from a varied choice which is listed in reception. The shuttle bus down to the beach is really frequent and fantastic when it is too hot to stroll down. They also have the shuttle running in the evening into Tropea, which is fantastic for exploring when it is cooler and also gives you the chance to eat at one of the many restaurants or bars there or just have a wander around. We found also that most bars if you drop in for a drink will give you free snacks which was fantastic, we ended up having to turn some down as there was far too much for us, but it was so thoughtful and such a nice touch. This break for us was about rest & relaxation and it most certainly was that and more, thanks to the staff at this wonderful hotel. We cannot wait to return and do a bit more exploring next time.
