Hotel Tirreno

This was our second stay at Hotel Tirreno and it didn't disappoint. The hotel, the staff, grounds, pool and food are all wonderful. The view of the sea is stunning and the grounds have various flora, cacti and shrubs that lift your spirits. There are numerous staff that made our stay special - Stefania, Giovanni, Vincenzo, Alice.... to name but a few... The breakfasts were included and there was plenty to choose from and it was all tasty. Dinners were extra and also delicious - varying from day-to-day. Shuttles available to the beach and the town of Tropea at specified times. The pool is beautiful, surrounded by nice vegetation. There is a poolside bar which provides a variety of drinks and possible sandwich options. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are provided at the pool and beach. Our room had a sea view and a lovely balcony. The town of Parghelia is nearby for any needed groceries/supplies. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle allowing you to really relax.

Hotel Tirreno is a lovely & inviting traditional Italian hotel. All the staff are welcoming and generous with their time and information during your stay. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a terrace and sea view. The room was well proportioned with a good sized bathroom (shower). Plenty of storage space and the bed is comfortable. I always love a room with tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel is kept immaculately and run very efficiently. The reception staff speak good English and were incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed half board. The breakfast choice was very good with hot & cold options available. You choose your evening meal early in the day, and each day there were at least three quality choices for starter and main. You can also request a 'grande' version if you're feeling very hungry. Stefania is an excellent sommelier and really helps you choose a good quality and very affordable glass or bottle of wine. If you order a bottle and don't finish it, they will keep it stored for you until the next day, such an excellent idea. There is a free shuttle service to the beach and Tropea, we didn't use this as we like to walk everywhere, but it was available if needed. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing - no loud music blaring, which is a definite plus point! There were plenty of loungers and parasols. The view from our terrace to Tropea and Stromboli was spectacular. There is a roof top bar at the Hotel Piccolo (which shares the site) again with stunning views. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will definitely like to visit again.

Breakfast is amazing. Lots of selection and very tasty. Access to beach by shuttle provided by hotel, those who can, can walk to the beach. Those returning to hotel by foot, depending on physical state, may find it a bit strenuous. Shuttle to beach takes a few minutes. Beach itself is quite nice with sun beds and umbrellas available as part of the hotel package. The pool and grounds of the hotel are beautiful and are well kept. Nice vegetation, cacti and flowers. The staff in all areas are amazing and always willing to assist and courteous. There is a nice poolside bar with a variety of drink and sandwich options. Suppers are extra and need to be ordered during the day, as the hotel is doing its utmost to avoid food wastage The suppers are tasty. During the evening there is a shuttle into Tropea and back at designated times. The location is very peaceful and the view of the sea lovely. For those who wish, you can walk to the nearby town of Parghelia for groceries/supplies. Hotel is removed from hustle and bustle - if that's what you want.

Would suggest some handrails for the gradual steps down to the pool. Would also suggest some sort of entertainment maybe several times a week.

Hotel Tirreno is a lovely traditional Italian hotel. We stayed in a room with a large balcony overlooking the sea. The hotel is kept immaculately and run very efficiently. The reception staff speak good English and were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is traditional Italian and after breakfast each morning we enjoyed looking at that evening's menu and choosing what we would like to eat. Very helpfully you can order half portions of even ask for more if you wish. The food was delicious! The pool outside is beautiful and a good size with plenty of loungers complete with their own sunshades. The view from here, across to Tropea and Stromboli, is spectacular. There is a roof top bar at the Hotel Piccolo (which shares the site) again with stunning views. We had a wonderful experience and can't wait to visit again.

Hard to fault this hotel, all the staff really friendly and helpful. We visited with our eldest son & his wife, we all agreed how nice the Tirrano is. Very nice evening meals and breakfast always plentiful. Lovely beach, hotel has it's own allocation of beach with good sun loungers & parasols and it's own lifeguard. We would walk down to the beach and return in the hotels minibus. Great restaurant overlooking the beach, I've done a separate review along with some other places we visited. The pool at hotel is immaculate, in fact the whole hotel is very clean and tidy. Nice bar at the pool and also nice rooftop bar in their sister hotel next door Hotel Piccolo, great drinks mixed by Michael. As already mentioned all the staff are a credit to the hotel, but I feel I must mention in particular the hardworking and always smiling Giovanni. Tropea is lovely and we caught the train from Parghelia to picturesque Scilla, train easy and cheap. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely visit again.

A beautiful property in Tropea! This is our second trip to Hotel Tirreno and it definitely did not disappoint. The property is well maintained, with manicured grounds, beautiful swimming pool, renovated rooms, and hard working staff. The breakfast is the best we had in Europe , with excellent options that are sure to make all travelers pleased. This property is a piece of heaven in one of most beautiful beaches on earth.

A beautiful week, made extra special at this lovely family run hotel. We were looked after so well by all the staff at the hotel. Always there for us but not over bearing. Stefanie was extremely helpful with her local knowledge. Stefanie supported my husband with his Italian, always patient and encouraging. Michael in the bar was wonderful and made very delicious drinks. All of the team from cleaners, waiting staff and reception were always smiling. The room’s were clean and the food was good:)

This was our third stay at this beautiful hotel Stephania , Michele, Gianni and all the staff here provide the best hospitality to their customers They all make us feel so relaxed and at home here The restaurant food and the incredible bruschetta around the pool can’t be beaten We loved everything about our stay here and we missed the fun and laughter shared Looking forward to another trip back here to enjoy the warmth , care and hospitality provided by this beautiful place and their staff Thanks Anne and Serge 👏❤️
