Hotel Tjampuhan Spa

This hotel has got the most beautiful character of all the hotels we have seen and stayed at in Ubud. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the centre of town and after a busy day exploring it is an absolute delight to surround yourself with such beauty and serenity. The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating and all correspondence to and from Australia have been quick and efficient. You will not be disappointed.

Have visited this hotel for many years, its a gorgeous location in well kept grounds, the hotel needs bit of attention especially as the prices seem now quite high, good breakfast and friendly staff..

The hotel would have been fine but our room was musty and damp and not properly cleaned. We did no more than sleep in the room - it wasn't a nice place to spend any time.

No Bali smiles to old not very clean

I left after one night, I did not enjoy this hotel at all so I went back to Kuta. Paying $150 a night I would expect nice rooms, not dirty, inspect infested rooms. Very disappointing, and unfortunately this negative view stayed. The Spa is ok, which increases my rating slightly.

Tjampuhan. Beautiful place employed by beautiful people. Spiritual place where two rivers meet with unparalleled views. Attention to detail, food, staff and grounds made this a place and an experience I will repeat. Spa treatments along river were amazing! Located in close proximity to shops and restaurants. Tucked away from hussle after a long day in the town of ubud made this hotel very convenient. Many things to do within walking distance. If visiting this hotel you should be aware that it sits in a river valley on a steep hillside so if stairs are a problem for you, this might not be the place. From a scale of 1-10 I give it a 10.

This place makes a wonderful first impression. The setting and the traditional buildings are indeed spectacular to behold. The public areas of the hotel is beautifully decorated in marble and Balinese art and sculpture. Our room was adequate with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was terribly dated and the room layout questionable. Because of the hotel’s jungle setting, the rooms are very dark and lighting not sufficient. Breakfast gives enough variety and it is lovely to enjoy in the open spaces. Dinner is of high quality. Service is inconsistent. We stayed in four other Bali hotels and if compared, some of the staff here is complacent and not as service orientated as their counterparts elsewhere. We booked for four nights but only spent three, as we have a more modern taste and the rooms seem to be too tired for our liking. However, the location in Ubud this hotel has is perfect. It is in the heart of the bustling town with great restaurants and shopping around.

One of the most unique hotel properties I've ever seen. The grotto at the spa is not to be missed.

Service is extremely slow and the management didn’t help at all. They failed to tell me they were having a rave from 7pm to 7am and I couldn’t sleep at all. Called front desk to ask for ear plugs or something and he offered me a cake.. No! I want to sleep. If I k ew I wouldn’t have booked here at all, breakfast is horrible and to get two drink from the pool bar was a 20min wait.. will never stay here again...

They just need a bit more money spent on maintenance. Paths starting to break up and poor lighting. Our bathroom was terrible. chipped broken and dirty tiles. The hotel is a grand old lady that just needs to have a little bit spent on maintenance.
