A compact hotel. Most rooms on ground floor. The lounge was open and quiet. Restaurant food excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful

Too many dogs I’m afraid!

Our friends have been coming to this hotel for over 10 years and asked us to join them for a short break. It is a lovely hotel and we found the accommodation and staff exceptional and it is no wonder so many of the guests we chatted to are frequent visitors. It is in a great location for visits to the New Forest, had a lovely atmosphere and staff were extremely helpful. We definitely hope to return some time soon.

We’d highly recommend a stay at South Lawns Hotel—it’s one of those places that just gets everything right. The rooms are spacious, beautifully comfortable, and finished to a really high standard, making it easy to relax from the moment you arrive. What truly sets it apart for us, though, is the warm, thoughtful atmosphere. Our elderly German Shepherd is treated like royalty—completely spoilt and made to feel just as welcome as we are, which means a great deal (although next time, you might have to hide those doggy treats from Mike, at reception or we’ll never get her to leave!). Add to that excellent food, a well-stocked bar, and a team of staff who go out of their way to make every stay special, and you have somewhere we always look forward to returning to. We had a lovely time at the South Lawn Hotel. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a garden room. The room was very spacious and clean with everything you could ever need. We went with our little dog and it really is such a dog friendly hotel. He was able to come to breakfast with us, we were sat in our own area in the restaurant, the hotel staff brought a water bowl and sausage. The highlight was having access to an enclosed area where he could play all the fetch he wanted. It is also really well located and is in close proximity to lymington ferry station and also the new forest. There is also a huge Waitrose a 10 minute drive away. We would really recommend this hotel, especially if you have a dog.

Lovely location - very comfortable stay

Location is ideal for exploring so many places. The staff are super attentive and really helpful with everything. We had a ground floor suite as we bought our puppy for his first holiday. Brilliant layout and straight out to dog walking area. Our meals, breakfast and dinner, were perfect and a sausage for dogs for their breakfast was a nice touch. Will definitely be back.

Good location, comfortable rooms, helpful staff. You have to like the colour grey, though, as that is everywhere the dominant colour. And the showers were not hot.

An excellent hotel. The room was well furnished, clean, comfortable and quiet . All the staff were very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was excellent - set you up for the day. There was a good choice on the evening meal menu in the Cedar Tree restaurant with a different special each day. The location is really handy for the New Forest and surrounding area. Ample parking. All in all a great place - a lucky find for us for a last minute break.
