The Oaksmere

The restaurant was lovely we ate lunch there and the food was excellent. The staff were very pleasant and location of the hotel was beautiful. It was warn when we stayed and the terrace at the back was lovely for a drink.

The room was good, not deluxe and there was a loud extractor fan that eventually turned off at night outside the window. We were moved to this room when we arrived so was not sure what the actual room we were supposed to stay in was like.

The hotel location was nice and peaceful, and some staff members were polite when we raised our concerns. The room itself initially appeared spacious and looked good on first impression.

Unfortunately, our executive room had multiple insects including spiders and flies throughout the stay. We raised this issue three times, and although the room was sprayed, insects continued to appear shortly after. We were only offered a downgrade to a lower-standard room despite paying £160 for an executive suite, which was disappointing after travelling three hours and arriving late in the evening.

Staff were amazing. Friendly. Attentive.

Spent our anniversary weekend at The Oaksmere and it was lovely. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the front desk. The hotel is gorgeous and has lovely grounds. Didn't eat at the restaurant but it was generally always busy but you couldn't hear any noise when in the room
