The Riverside House Hotel

A lovely hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and great food. The staff were attentive, efficient, and very friendly.

Everything about the hotel was good, including the food served in the restaurant. The only slight downside was, there weren't a lot of options in the town for eating out on a Sunday evening.

Breakfast and dinner were superb and all food was hot and attractively presented. The staff were friendly and efficient and went out of their way to make us welcome throughout our stay. The room was clean and the main hotel decor attractive.

We felt that our bedroom was a little bit tired and in need of a bit of redecoration, but it was spotless , as was the whole hotel. The duvet needed replacing as it was somewhat lumpy but the linen and towels were very good, as was the supply of coffee tea and biscuits. The sweet jar was a nice touch!

Everything and all the staff made you feel so welcome even upgraded our room as it was my birthday and had a special table in dinning room decorated

Breakfast was well cooked. They would do any combo that you requested no problem

The location is good with the river to look out onto. A nice friendly atmosphere throughout the hotel. My room was very comfortable with a nice view. Very clean everywhere and the service of all the staff was good. Food was good and plenty of it. Value for money. Could hear some of the traffic as the hotel is on a main road. Would certainly recommend.

Everyone was very accommodating for our very late arrival and early departure. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was fantastic.

Very pleasant looking building(Bridgerton type), polite check-in at front desk, everything about stay well explained, borrowed a pack of card from front desk also. Bed was comfortable and clean bedding. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant, can’t fault it. Ample parking. Short walk to town centre. Check out was simple.

Cleanliness of room, room had cobwebs in various places, attention to cleaning detail had been overlooked for some time, stains at tea & coffee area, taps and plug hole not clean, walls around shower not properly cleaned, spill stains on wall, floor not clean enough. No hot water in Saturday or Sunday mornings, disappointing. Informed General Manager on Saturday morning of lack of hot water and some of the issues with cleanliness, on our return, the hot water had been restored, an area that we had mentioned with cobwebs had been cleaned, however, there were still cobwebs on the ceiling above bath, on tv, on picture in room, stains on wall, tea/coffee area still dirty, we informed duty manager on Sunday morning of the lack of attention to rectify cleanliness issues, and looked like a rabbit in the headlights, kept saying he was stunned, but no apologies given. There was an offer to move room, however, we booked a room with a bath and did not want the upheaval.
