Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites Valparaiso by IHG

Great staff. Good breakfast.

Cordial staff, great location, comfortable beds.

Breakfast offerings were just okay.

Only problem is we arrived and I received an email stating early arrival was approved. We were there for a wedding and had just a short time to get ready prior. Checking in the lady said no and that email did not come from them it was from booking. Com and pretty much she could do nothing. So why the email if not true. They did their best and got us in 20 min before their regular ck in. We made it work. Now I will second guess when booking through a site. Never have had problem prior doing it. But again all worked out

Everything was great until cleaning ladies came banging on the door at 9 am. I was in the shower so could not answer the door. They tried to get in the room and could not since the top lock was up. They banged for a solid 5 mins. If checkout is at 11 why are they banging on the door like they’re the police 2 hrs before.

Interesting owners of this place -I was talked over multiple times I tried to call them I was arriving late. They also were upset at the fact I booked through Expedia and made me enroll as a member without asking me first and guised it as "so you can get your rewards next time." Room was dusty and the pillows still smelled like someones head was on it before.

Lots of smokers at this hotel. Not used to that anymore.

Good location

We stayed in a room with double beds and a roll in shower. You would think that it was a handicapped room. It’s not. The bed was hard to get in and out of. It would have been nice to have a handrail attached to the bed to hold on to. The chairs in the room were also not easy to sit in. They need to have chairs with arms. As for the bathroom, they need to have grab bars on both sides of the toilets (not just on one side).
