"Amazing 5* Holiday"

10.0

Unreal hotel! Great experience from when we got there with welcome Prosecco and the most friendly reception staff. 45 mins from the airport, 15 min bus to old town - €2 a ticket and the bus stop is just outside the hotel. That saying you don’t really need to leave, the hotel atmosphere is great, lively and friendly with the staff not being able to do enough for you. Our room was gorgeous with a stunning sea view and cleaners would come everyday and restock the water in the fridge aswell. The cocktails were amazing in the bar and by the pool, if you are an iced coffee fan you need to order the freddo cappuccino it’s unbelievable - I’ve included pictures of the menu. The food was an amazing range and something for everyone, breakfast with fresh crepes and waffles in the main restaurant were the highlight of breakfast, the lunch over in the Greek restaurant was unbelievable with fresh gyros definitely recommended, the main restaurant had a different theme everyday with also same basics so something for everyone. All the staff are great Alex and Jack in the bar were great and the girl at the pool bar they all made our experience. There are plenty of areas to chill around the hotel but sun loungers were starting to fill up quickly as we got into June however everyday we managed to get some, one issue was people were leaving towels on the beds and not returning so you would think they were taken, so just keep an eye out and you will get one. However due to the access on the private beach there was always sun loungers down there and would only take 1 minute to get to the bar so that was perfect. The entertainment was very good and would be on from 9-10:30/11 every evening at the main bar - as the hotel started getting busier this would be the only time you’re waiting to get a drink but people would clear out at 10:30 then the bar is open till 01:00 so we never had an issue getting a drink. It was honestly an unforgettable holiday and that is thanks to everyone at Dimitra, I would recommend this hotel to everyone

"Will absolutely not be returning or recommending."

4.0

Positives: - [ ] Reception act on requests quickly- called for water twice and it came within 10 minutes - [ ] Sand bags put over the rocks to aid walking into the sea - [ ] Catarina from flavours restaurant is lovely, so polite and welcoming - [ ] Very easy to hire a car from Cosmos car rental in the foyer- more expensive than cars in old town but more convenient - [ ] Restaurant staff and bar staff work very hard, over worked wiping sweat off their heads. Not enough staff to cater for the guests. We felt sorry for them! - [ ] Clean hotel, maids are so so kind and friendly - [ ] Support with luggage upon arrival with a buggy to the room - [ ] Good aircon unit in room - [ ] Plenty of clean beach towels by the pool - [ ] Plenty of beach beds on the beach - [ ] Lovely rituals branded body wash and shampoo in the showers- a luxury product - [ ] Powerful hairdryer in the room - [ ] Since raising our concerns on the first day, management were very keen to talk to us Negatives: - [ ] Arrived at 1am, no water in the room - [ ] Non alcoholic beer on bar menu but none available all week except for once - [ ] All Coke, Coke Zero and Diet Coke come from a 2L plastic bottle rather than a tap and is always flat, once they run out they run out, even though there are cans of coke in the fridge, it’s locked and you have to pay for it if you want coke from a can rather than flat Coke from a bottle - [ ] Took 40 minutes to get a drink in flavours restaurant after asking 2 different waiters - [ ] Georgio in flavours restaurant very loud and obnoxious, talks down to his staff and is rude to his staff - [ ] At breakfast and dinner the tables aren’t made up and you have to wait a while for cutlery and a drink - [ ] Lack of vegetarian food / variety of vegetarian food unless you want salad, chips and cold over cooked pasta every day. On Mexican theme night, all there was was sweetcorn and rice. No tortillas, guacamole, salsa, sour cream etc which you’d expect with a Mexican themed night- had to eat out of the hotel in the old town twice due to this - [ ] Had chicken on first night. It was undercooked, pink in the middle - [ ] Waiting again on last night for 20 mins for table to be laid as was a couple behind us. Asked head waiter Georgio to help, he just said no way not 20 mins and walked off- completely ignoring us - [ ] In a beach front bungalow and the toilet wouldn’t flush. To get rid of toilet matter, you had to pull the shower head out of the shower and jet it into the toilet, not what you’d expect when you’re in a supposedly 5* hotel - [ ] Georgio puts all the restaurant staff on edge, shouting at them in front of guests. - [ ] The staff are working really hard, felt not enough of them for the volume of clients. - [ ] All sunbeds round all the pools have towels on by 8am and no one with them. There are signs to say no reserving beds with towels but everyone still does it. This should be enforced as it’s unfair - [ ] Upon looking at other people’s trip advisor reviews, it’s clear that we should have had bath robes, slippers and flip flops included in our room but we didn’t. - [ ] Flavours restaurant toilets are always blocked and not cleaned regularly, not what you want to see when you go to use the toilet during dinner - [ ] Lack of lighting in the room- 2 bedside lamps which need to be unplugged to charge anything and 1 small lamp on the wall, very dark in the evenings - [ ] Lack of plug sockets in room, the 3 that there are are already in use for other electrical items ie.lamp/phone/kettle. Constantly unplugging things to switch them around - [ ] The floor in the restaurant looked like it hadn’t been mopped/swept between meals. It was sticky and lots of footprint trails. - [ ] Hair found in lunch time meal.

"Superb Holiday"

10.0

This is based on the ‘beachside bungalow’ we stayed in. Location; Agios Focas is a quiet location at the end of the bus line (no1). Peaceful but within easy reach of Kos Town bus 2euros, or taxi. The sea is crystal clear, but the beach is pebbles and stone. You will need shoes to go in the sea. Accommodation; Our ‘beachside bungalow’ was really close to the beach, with our own sunbeds, lovely view, good hot water, big comfy bed, tea & coffee, all you wanted really. Daily cleaning was excellent. Note, there are a lot of steps on this resort, it didn’t effect us but it may not be suitable for everyone. Food/Restaurant; We found the food superb. Good selection, never had to queue, prompt service. Bar; Local draughty beer (Alpha), lovely cocktails (properly and expertly mixed), branded spirits. Service was always prompt and we never had to wait long for a drink, even when busy. I must say Lili our waitress was superb! Entertainment; Very good, especially the Frankie Valli and Drifters tribute. Entertainment generally finished by 11pm, which is great. Staff; The staff were probably the highlight, bar staff, waiter/waitress, cleaners, ground staff, reception, all were fantastic, friendly and efficient. Just 2 small points, 1. Some of the doors in the wardrobe area did’t fit very well. 2. We could have done without the ‘glow disco’ on Friday night….but perhaps were getting old! All in all it was a very enjoyable 2 weeks!

"Far From the 5-Star Experience We Paid For"

4.0

After spending 15 nights at Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites, I cannot understand how this resort is marketed as a 5-star hotel. My fiancée and I chose this resort to celebrate our engagement and spent nearly £5,000 on what we expected to be a relaxing and memorable holiday. Instead, we left disappointed and frustrated. The most serious issue was our original room, which had a strong drainage/sewage smell coming from the bathroom. We reported it immediately and repeatedly over several days. Housekeeping and maintenance attended multiple times, but the smell always returned. We were only moved to another room after making it clear that we would not continue staying in those conditions. Had we not continued to push the issue, I genuinely believe we would have been left in that room for the remainder of our stay. Cleanliness and maintenance throughout the resort were also below expectations. Ants were everywhere, both around the resort and inside the rooms, and insects regularly found their way indoors. Many sun loungers were broken, umbrellas were damaged or incomplete, and basic maintenance appeared to be lacking. Service was consistently slow. It took three days to gain access to a faulty safe containing our passports, cash and valuables, two days and multiple requests to receive an iron, and even simple requests such as obtaining pool towels required repeated visits to reception. The food was acceptable but nowhere near the standard expected of a 5-star resort. Tables were often left uncleared, drinks regularly took a long time to arrive, and staff appeared overwhelmed by the number of guests. Some of the plates and glasses provided were visibly dirty, and on more than one occasion we found hair in our food. The evening entertainment was repetitive and offered little variety during a longer stay. To make matters worse, after raising a formal complaint regarding the numerous issues we experienced, we felt our concerns were handled entirely on the resort’s terms rather than with any genuine focus on guest satisfaction. When my fiancée discussed compensation with the front-of-house team, the response left us with the clear impression that protecting revenue was a greater priority than addressing guest concerns. Since making our complaint, we have also felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. Rather than feeling valued as paying guests, we were left with the impression that our concerns were an inconvenience. Every hotel can experience issues. The true measure of quality is how those issues are handled. Unfortunately, Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites consistently failed to resolve problems in a timely, professional, and guest-focused manner. Based on our experience, we would not return and would strongly encourage anyone considering this resort to carefully research alternative options before spending their money here.

"A Wonderful Family Holiday with Outstanding Staff"

10.0

We have just enjoyed a beautiful week at the Dimitra Hotel in Kos with our 4 and 5-year-old children and their grandparents, and we had a fantastic time. The hotel was exceptionally clean throughout our stay, and all of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely, with plenty of choice. We particularly enjoyed the gyros most days and looked forward to the delicious banana smoothies at breakfast each morning. A special thank you to the hotel team for helping us celebrate my partner’s birthday. I had forgotten to bring his birthday cards, but the staff went above and beyond by decorating our room with balloons and arranging a birthday cake. We enjoyed the cake with a bottle of champagne on our balcony, which made the day feel extra special. The pools were beautiful and well-maintained, and our children absolutely loved them. The kids’ club was excellent, with a small children’s pool nearby and a park within easy reach. The entertainment team did a wonderful job keeping the children engaged with activities such as painting, colouring, and even doing their hair. They were fantastic with the kids and made a real difference to our holiday. The only slight disappointment for us was the à la carte Italian restaurant, which wasn’t quite to our taste. However, the staff there were still wonderful and helped us celebrate my partner’s birthday with another cake, which was a lovely touch. Overall, we had a wonderful family holiday and created some fantastic memories. We would happily recommend the Dimitra Hotel to other families and would definitely return again in the future.

"Not a 5 * Hotel"

8.0

This is supposed to be a 5* hotel. It certainly isn't, we were disappointed with the very basic suites. Food was always only just warm. Although plenty of choice a lot of dishes were not labelled so didn't even try them. Not enough seats of an evening and missed most of the entertainment because we couldn't get a table (maybe we should have put beach towels on a table, like they put on sun beds around the pool) Only waitress service of an evening and the wait was far too long between drinks also think the wine was watered down, a glass of wine came in a small glass and only half full. We travelled with family in 2 rooms, one evening asked the reception to call a taxi for us to go in to Kos a 25 minute drive. She told us it would be 40 euros, we challenged this and the reason was because we were in 2 separate rooms. Told her we would not pay this and after she made a call came back and agreed to 20 euro. Just felt like they were trying to rip us off, the bus stops out side of the hotel which is only a couple of euro each, but it stops running at 8 pm. The hotel is very clean but be prepared for having to put all toilet paper including soiled paper in a bin as not allowed to put down the toilet. All the staff were lovely. Also if you have any mobility issues there are too many steps, and if you like to go to the gym it is a good up hill walk away. Kos it's self is lovely especially the old town, just wished we had stayed in the town, because the hotel is to far away and getting the bus is a free for all, no respect for who was there first in the queue, they jus barge on.

"Fab week"

10.0

Superb week with friends We booked a private transfer from airport Arrived and check in was welcoming, quick and efficient and a lovely cold welcome drink Cases were taken to room as soon as we arrived Room - spacious, clean, very well equipped. The room had a double bed then a sofa bed in separate room ( we are three adults) fridge, hairdryer, kettle, coffee machine was a real bonus. Robes and slippers along with a jute bag to use Beach towels plus black flip flops per person Restaurant - the buffet restaurant was lovely, over looking the sea and we could always find a table. Food was tasty, hot and plentiful. Freshly made smoothies at breakfast. À la carte restaurant was also beautiful Drinks - we really couldn’t fault the drinks! The wine is the best we’ve had at an all inclusive. Pools - there are three pools all with excellent padded beds, again the most comfy we have had as the cushions are double thickness All areas are clean and tidy Beach - not the prettiest and very pebbled but it was nice to hear the waves Bus service - you can catch the bus outside hotel and it’s €2 to get into Kos per person. Then €2 to get back. Local taxi is €17 euros the hotel one will charge lots more. Gym - this is in hotel next door. 8 minute walk along beach is quickest way from our room (1118) or you can walk the road way. You have to book via the app which is easy to do. It’s quite small but perfect if you just want to tick over your fitness WiFi - make sure you log into hotel WiFi and not pick up Turkey as you will incur charges. The only negative is in the evening they do table service for drinks which is a lovely service to offer but it’s a bit slow, I would suggest when they deliver drinks order the next round Also the hotel is set high on the island so there are lots of steps so not ideal if you have mobility problems We will return for sure as we had a fab stay
