Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites

We had a wonderful holiday! The bedrooms were spacious and spotless, and the food was delicious with plenty of variety. The staff were all incredibly warm, friendly, and fantastic with our three young children. A special mention goes to George — he was outstanding, and the kids absolutely loved seeing him! We would love to return.

I read a lot of reviews prior to our holiday, so I got the gist of what to expect on arrival. We arrived at the hotel around 1am and met by George who was lovely. Check in was smooth and informative ready for our 10 day stay. The hotel is beautiful, very white and clean. The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and toilet rolls and a top of up milk and tea. The domestic and housekeeper team were lovely. The bed was a little too soft which was a killer on the back but otherwise nothing to complain about. The pools are freezing!! They’re fine once you’re in but wow, they’re cold. The sea was warmer. There were lots of sun beds around the pools and no sunbed wars. There are 3 restaurants at this specific hotel, they have the occasional theme nights for food and a huge variety. I do have to say, the food was very much similar for each meal but I think this was due to it being end of season. When we first arrived, the food was cold but noticed this was rectified after a couple of days. The bars had different varieties of drinks for both adults and children. There are soft drinks including fizzy pop and slushies. There is also a big fridge full of water you can help yourself too. A large array of spirits and cocktails too. The staff make families feel welcomed and are really playful with children. A big shout out to Adina and Lili, who served us every night at the bar! Edi the cocktail man who made a fantastic lemon cocktail. “The fishy man” who gave my son the biggest hugs and high five’s every night at dinner and the rest of the staff who were so very kind. The beach is very rocky, so definitely take shoes. There are lots of little stone piles the kids have made which is sweet. There is never a fight for a sun bed down there and the view is incredible.

This was our second time staying at the Dimitra, our first stay was 2 years ago. The first time we stayed we stayed in the club suites and this time in a sea front bungalow. The sea front bungalow was a beautiful view but it was a little bit dated and needed a bit of a freshen up. The maids were absolutely amazing and even on my husband’s birthday sang to him. We had fresh towels daily and they were always on had for anything we needed. I must say I did notice a difference in food this time around, it was very repetitive but still lovely but you could tell it was coming to end of season as there was not a lot of choice but the staff were amazing, always on hand to help, offer you drinks and what can I say George was amazing, always there to welcome you in and always found you a table. For us the stand out staff at the hotel was Adina and Lili at the upstairs veranda bar. They went over and above at all times for us, even when it was really busy they always smiled and could not of asked for more. Adina and Lili really made our experience stand out and we would come back to see them in a heartbeat. Hopefully they get the recognition they wholeheartedly deserve because they were amazing. We met some lovely people whilst being here and we really enjoyed our time. Thank you 🤩 Adrian and Karina Spruce

Fantastic Hotel. Even though I read here that the Beach was rocky, there were too many stairs, and the pool was too crowded. Guys, I was told that beforehand at the travel agency, and I accepted it! With a total of 6 pools, where are 450 people supposed to lie? You also want a bit of privacy... All in all, I was absolutely thrilled. The rooms were super clean and serviced daily. Shower gel and Bodylotion were provided, and the view of the sunrise was breathtaking! The Food... Wow! Something for every Taste, whether meat, fish or vegan. Hot or cold. Great Then in the evening, we went to the bar... You had to be quick to get a good spot; it was always full. But I've never experienced that before. After inital skepticism about the end of the season, we thought they were probably tired of it... Far from it! With enthusiasm, speed, and always a smile on their face, even when we occasionally knocked over a glass. All in all, it was fantastic. A huge thank goes to Adina; we've never received such friendly advice regarding our cocktail Selektion. We'll miss you, your smile, your speed. Keep up the good work, and all the best to you ! It was a fantastic 14 days, thanks to the entire Dimitra Beach team and to Adina!

Great location, very clean room and swimming pool, great restaurants

Grande chambre, en fait 2 chambres à coucher très bien pour une famille. Lits confortables, belles piscines, proximité de la mer, calme. Proximité des thermes (piscine naturelle avec eau chaude près de la mer) à 5 minutes de bus

This was a trip of two halves.... Dimitra Beach is a great hotel, super clean with friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful pools, garden areas and pebbly beach. Located on a cliff side close to Kos town with easy bus links. There is a real problem with the main hotel restaurant with cooked buffet food not being kept hot and most food being lukewarm/cold. I was able to touch the bottom of the trays as they were not hot and food was not being kept to temperature. Plate warmers weren't turned on early enough so dinner plates were cold too. On top of that, birds are allowed to fly in to the buffet area, land on the sides and eat. This is a massive health issue. I covered over a dish on the side myself to stop them eating. They fly above the food, possibly pooping as they go with a chance of faeces landing on food areas. The Thalasa restaurant has buffet food under plastic Perspex boxes so they know there's an issue. Our last night meal at La Cucina was absolutely fantastic! Completely recommend the beef masala, and great hosting/service from Zamir. How can catering areas be so very different?? A real shame that something so simple as turning hot plates up and doing temp checks, and more importantly better hygiene on food practices re the birds could make this a fantastic hotel.

I stayed @ Dimitra half october 2025. I have quite mixed feelings about the place. To begin with the positive things: staff was very friendly, they tried to make most out of your stay. And even of they could not fix problems today, they definitely came back to you to fix it the next day. The resort itself was quite ok, looked nice and well kept. The pools were freezing though. So no poolbar for me. The poodbeds were very good, although not too many. In this time of the year this wat not a big problem, since it was end of season and it was not full. But I don't want to think about the 'bed wars' during summer.... Location was ok, 20 min by bus from Kos City. for the rest, very remote. Then the things I wasn't so exited about. To start with the food. I booked an All Inclusive arrangement. Where in other resorts there was food during the whole day, here there was only breakfast, lunch and dinner at fixed timed, and in 1 bar snacks at extra charge. So if you missed breakfast, you had to wait a couple of hours before lunch. The quality of the food was to be honest far below standard. When I arrived I was quite impressed by the variety of food, to find out that this 'variety' was not so 'varied' between the days, no matter what restaurant you were. The meat was salty, dry, It became clear after one day that the not consumed vegetables were reused for the next meal (or even the next day), salads turned brown during days. It was quite clear this was not fresh food, I think that most is just (re)heated freezed food. After 3 day's everything tasted about the same, and we were quite fed up with it. The baklavas — a typically Greek dish — was as tough as old chewing gum. A completely missed opportunity. Even the Italian a la carte restaurant provided us with frozen calamaris, chicken which tasted the same as the other restaurants... The drinks were far below quality. Even though they displayed premium booze behind the bar, cocktails were made with the cheapest, low quality products (Cutty Sark Whisky.. i rest my case). Luckily we had Christine at our pool bar, she was almost the only one who really understood how to make good cocktails, even with low quality ingredients. At the Veranda Bar, they were really good in completely ruin a good Mojito, including a complete wrong glass.... Housekeeping: we stayed for 7 nights, and only 4 times we spotted housekeepers... one morning at 7:00... of course we were still fast asleep... And no changing the sheets! they only make the bed, sweep the floor, an thats it. We had to ask explicitly to empty the rubbish, change towels, and changed the pillow cases. again, complete missed opportunity To summarize: I give the place 3 stars. This for the well maintained location, the super friendly staff. But if you would ask me If I would return, I'd give a definite 'No'.

I stayed there on July and had an amazing experience, especially the lady in the reception her name is Agapi was very informative and helpful throughout our stay there, I definetally recommend it!! I will visit again soon!!

Absolutely lovely hotel and staff, facilities are excellent and views are serene. Transport / transfers are very good and communication is excellent. Good food and fresh buffet for breakfast and dinner.
