Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites

Positives 1. Very clean rooms 2.lots of extras …slippers,robe,beach bag,Molten Brown shampoo etc,flip flops,tea,coffee machine and water. 3.Staff very kind and helpful. 4.pool area and bar very clean and plenty of sunbeds but we were out of season. Negatives 1.lots of steps though it does tell you in brochure.Not for guests with mobility issues. 2.Food was so disappointing.Same regurgitated pork from one night to the next.Food cold and same old same old each night.Breakfast the same .We had to chivvy ourselves to go to eat.One night at La Cutina was nice but only allowed once on our stay. 3.In the middle of nowhere so to eat elsewhere you needed a taxi at 40 euro return. 4.Bus only 2 euros into mos town but not reliable and take your life in your hands as no limit to how many allowed on.We got a taxi back. 5.

Currently staying in room 824. While the resort is visually appealing and most of the staff are friendly, the overall experience has been extremely disappointing. The bed is old, heavily worn, and deeply uncomfortable — it sinks in the middle like a crater. This was raised with reception at the start of our stay, but the mattress was never replaced. I’ve barely slept all week and my back is now in absolute agony. Reception did offer a room change (due to several other issues with the room), but with two small children, the thought of packing and unpacking again was simply too disruptive. Unfortunately, the issues go far beyond the bed. There are serious safety and hygiene concerns: • The hair dryer began growling and literally caught fire (it was replaced after reporting). • A constant smell of sewage lingers in the bathroom. • The cleaning service is poor — we had to ask for the sheets to be changed after day 4, and the floors are filthy (white socks turn black within minutes). Accessibility is another MAJOR issue. Families with prams or mobility needs should avoid this resort. There’s no practical way to reach our room other than walking up a long, steep hill on the MAIN ROAD. The so-called “family rooms” are located right at the top of the hill with no proper pram access — a completely impractical and unsafe design choice. The food is repetitive, watery, and bland in both buffet restaurants. The pools are unheated and absolutely freezing cold - we’ve yet to go in them, and most cocktails are simply undrinkable. It’s a shame, because the resort itself looks beautiful and most of the staff are friendly and try to help. But the lack of comfort, cleanliness, and basic practicality completely overshadow any positives.

Everything was lovely!

Location great, rooms great, weather amazing, and that’s really where the good parts stop! Food- never hot (other than A la carte restaurant) Service- around 25% of the team are fab, the others were not interested in you. Ignored daily pretty much. On observation if you had young kids or were an attractive lady you were invisible to most of the team. Several arguments witnessed in the restaurant, I think the restaurant Manager was the worst offender! I had salads pretty much every day as they were fresh, and supposed to be cold, my Wife ended up doing the same after trying different dishes. Cleanliness- hotel is spotless could not fault it at all, amazing. I did email and fill survey in, the hotel have been in touch, and offered a discount to return, one I declined.

We knew the hotel was remote, we knew the beach was stony and needed beach shoes, we knew food was not amazing.. Here is an honest review having returned home today. Positive things..we had amazing sunshine for our 7 days, we just wanted to completely relax which we did. The staff are really lovely, Tania at the main pool and the lovely Enea(our Italian water gym instructor) plus all the waiters and waitresses and cleaners were all absolutely brilliant. Reception were helpful and found us a better sea view bungalow than the original one we were given.The bungalows are a good size and have good facilities. Just be careful on the location,we were originally behind lots of other bungalows with not a great view. The sun beds around the pools are fab with super thick mattresses. We never had a problem getting a bed. The sea views around the hotel are amazing. There is a bus stop to Kos town next to the hotel, 2 euros pp each way. Kos town is fine if you want to do a bit of souvenir shopping. Bus times can be a bit erratic.. our only negative was the food. It was much worse than we expected. I stuck to the salads mostly but my husband found it very difficult to find food he liked. The ‘hot’ food wasn’t hot at all, soup was warm at best. Food wasn’t labelled properly . Food was over cooked, tough chicken/ meat , none of the hot food was hot.The best thing were the desserts which were all delicious. I did mention the food at reception when we checked out and we had an email from the hotel manager which was very much appreciated.

Stunning location with amazing views, both out over the Aegean Sea and to the mountains behind. Good choice of pools and never a problem getting sun-loungers each day. Pleasant staff and always spotlessly clean. Food was plentiful & varied, but just lacked the ‘wow factor’, hence the 4 star review - not a 5. Overall, we were delighted with our stay - made all the better by enjoying some wonderfully warm weather!
