"Awesome stay for the 5 nights there. Will doit again in the future."

10.0

property was great. Cleaness, food presentation, hospitality, food service, room service, bar service. Everything about the property was great no complaints. Dolores / Tiki tiki from the front bar by the beach she was fenomenol. Her carisma, her dedication to our family, the service she gave us was expectacular 10 out of 10 her her. 8 out of 10 for the property.

Everything was great about the property I give it an 8 out of 10 just because I saw 2 insects by the hall way close to the room. Its part of nature just need to pay more attention to pest around property.

"Wonderful"

10.0

We had an incredible family vacation at this resort. This hotel strikes the perfect balance of fun and activities with also a calming atmostphere and opportunities for relaxation. The pools and especially the winding river style pool was beautiful, as was the beach. Some highlights were the "Beach Party" for entertainment one night, the beautiful bridge walkway through the mangrove trees (spotting so many iguanas and turtles), and the engaging activities for our kids (ages 9 and 12) led by the animation team - extra shout out to "Brownie"! We choose a "Prefered Club" room which gave us access to the calm preferred club area, the beach side "Seaside Grill" restaurant and our excellent personal Concierge, Junior. We look forward to returning one day!

"Restful vacation!"

8.0

We went as a group of 9. The resort was accommodating and placed our rooms together. The staff was courteous and helpful, to include paying attention to detail. The rooms were clean and offered essential amenities. We enjoyed the variety of activities to participate in, along with the variety of food offered.

"Terrible room. Pretty resort."

4.0

Room was generally “clean” in the sense that the surfaces were cleaned, floor mostly mopped, etc. however, there was visible mold on the wallpaper in the bathroom. We requested a different room but were never moved. The noise was also so excessive between the foot traffic, drunk guests, and nightly entertainment, we rarely felt relaxed in our room. We were on the first floor right across from the theater. Food was ok. The Mexican restaurant was our favorite, French was our least. Buffet was ok. Beach was nice, seaweed was cleaned up well, got a little heavier the last couple days we were there. I could see us wanting to return had we been given a different room, but that really spoiled our experience. We spent way too much money for perhaps the worst room imaginable.

"Not recommended for couples but great for families"

8.0

We recently stayed at Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana for 2 weeks as a couple in our late 20s and overall I’d give it 4/5 stars. This is genuinely one of the most beautiful resorts we’ve ever stayed in, but there were definitely some frustrations too — especially as a couple looking for relaxation rather than a family-focused resort. Pros * Security patrol the resort constantly and the grounds feel extremely safe at all times. * During the first few days, concierge regularly called to check we were happy and asked if there was anything they could do for us — a really nice and appreciated touch. * The scenery is absolutely stunning. The protected reserve area and bridge leading to the Italian restaurant is beautiful and you can spot iguanas, turtles and other wildlife. * Evening entertainment was very good overall, especially the circus show. * Reception and concierge teams were always helpful with requests. * Coco Café and the 24-hour room service were hugely appreciated. * The live singer lady who performs throughout the day and some evenings is fantastic — such a lovely atmosphere. * The robes in the room felt luxurious and high quality. * The resort itself is incredibly tropical, well maintained and visually stunning. Even with the current seaweed challenges, staff work tirelessly every day to clear the beach. * Rooms are spacious and comfortable, beds are excellent and housekeeping was consistently fantastic with both daily cleaning and turndown service. * Around 80% of the staff are genuinely lovely, friendly and treat guests very well. * Food-wise, there are plenty of options and enough variety for everyone. The breakfast buffet was consistently one of the best parts with everything you could want. * For families, I can imagine this is an amazing resort with loads of activities and entertainment for children. Cons * I do question the value for money as a couple. We paid around £5,400 for 2 weeks and I think couples could probably find a more exclusive and peaceful experience elsewhere in the Caribbean. * Unless you pay extra for Preferred Club or stay at Secrets, there are no adults-only areas. Children constantly disturbed the peace around the pools and loungers. In my opinion, the infinity pool should absolutely be adults only considering there’s already a huge main family pool elsewhere. * I was genuinely surprised that there wasn’t a single adults-only space unless you upgrade considerably. * Restaurant and drinks service felt heavily dependent on tipping culture. The more you tip, the better the service becomes. I’m happy to tip generously for attentive service, but be prepared to spend an additional $500–1000 over your stay if you want consistently good treatment. * We are massive foodies and unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment for us. A lot of the food didn’t taste particularly fresh and is not aligned to what I expect from a 5 star resort. * We had a genuinely awful meal at the Mexican restaurant which absolutely was not worth the 1-hour wait — especially standing in the rain. * Some staff unfortunately act like they simply don’t want to be there and that guests are an inconvenience. * Food overall is “okay” rather than great. Room service is quick but often not very nice. * Expect waits of 40+ minutes most evenings for restaurants, where you’re handed a buzzer and told to wait while other guests appear to be seated immediately. We never really understood the logic behind this. * The sports bar was dark, dingy and smelt unpleasant — disappointing as football fans wanting to watch games including the final day of the season. * We paid extra for an outdoor jacuzzi bath, but it never worked properly. The jets would stop after around 30 seconds and despite multiple complaints it was never fully fixed. Overall Verdict Would we stay here again as a couple looking for a relaxing luxury holiday? Probably not. I think there are more exclusive adult-focused resorts elsewhere in the Caribbean better suited for couples. Would we recommend it for families? Absolutely. If you want somewhere your children can feel safe, entertained and have freedom to enjoy themselves, this resort is excellent. Maybe later in life we’d return with children of our own! Looking back, perhaps we should have booked Secrets for a more adult-only experience — although the distinctions between Dreams, Preferred and Secrets could definitely be explained more clearly during the booking process.

"Girls gone wild 2026."

10.0

Went with five other girls. Daughter and granddaughter and friends. Girls trip 2026. The Entertainment was very good. Yefri was the best. He is an awesome Dancer and a lot of fun. So was Kuromi, Prince, London, Babyface, Brownie and Tony. The night shows were awesome. At the Grotto SwimUp Bar our bartenders, Albert and Kelvin were on it. And our servers Deloris and Matire were very good with Drinks for us all the time. Our main guy who got restaurant reservations and messages scheduled was awesome (Jose) also know as the Legend. As to us he looked like John Legend. The property was very clean and beautiful as was the beach. The sand and water was warm and awesome. The Fusion restaurant was the best and the fire oven pizza was very good. Time went way to quick. THANK YOU STAFF FOR MAKING OUR VACA THE BEST. Deb Magsam and group.

"2nd Time @ Dreams Royal Beach, same great experience!"

8.0

After a great vacation last year at this resort on a couples trip, we brought our families back this year to enjoy another excellent vacation experience. It has something for everyone from couples to families, there is something for everyone to do. This year we stayed in building 5 with a garden view. The rooms were very clean; air conditioning was working fantastic and the fridge was always stocked. The beach was nice and the seaweed was kept maintained daily with a tractor picking it up. They also have a floating buoy system wall out from the shoreline to help keep it under the control as well. The water was nice and warm, fairly calm. There were always shaded loungers available throughout the day with serving staff regularly checking in to see if you need a beverage while taking in the beach. There are beach vendors that walk around trying to sell souvenirs, some will just walk by, others will try to start a conversation but if you say no, they will move on without hassle. The preferred members have a pool near the Italian restaurant which we checked out for a few hours one day, it had lots of loungers but a quieter atmosphere. It was not the atmosphere for us but if you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy poolside, this would be the place for you. We spent most of our time in the main pool by the beach which has a livelier atmosphere, and we also spent quite a bit of time at the lazy river with the kids. The lazy river has sections of shallow platforms that my son enjoyed a lot to play on. We also spent time at the water slides; all adult fun slides and the kids splash pad behind the water slides. The splash pad has a shallow ramp then the rest if approximately 12" deep with a play park. There is an inifinity pool behind the theatre that is a cool atmosphere within the palm trees which provides some shade within the pool. The food overall was good; there were lots of options to choose from and never left hungry. We ate at the Steakhouse, Italian a la cartes and we all agreed that the Steakhouse was our favorite a la carte followed closely by the Italian. We went to the Steakhouse twice, 1st time the overall experience was great but the 2nd time the service wasn't the same, but the food was still very good. There is also a Mexican, Japanese, and French restaurant which we did not go to due to children appetite and attention spans. We also ate at the buffets which always had a large selection of food to eat. The overall staff and welcoming atmosphere at this resort was fantastic, which for us, is what makes the trip all that more enjoyable. The food service staff were great, the entertainment staff were engaging and brought energy to all the activities, the pool boys/grounds crew kept the property well maintained and clean throughout our stay, the beach service staff were great at maintaining the beach but also checking in on the beach loungers for any beverage needs. The pool staff were awesome at all the pool areas with routinely checking how we were doing with our beverages. As per last year's review, I have to provide a shout out to Wilkin from the Grotto Bar. He serves the pool side loungers at the resorts main pool and has not changed since last year. His positive and fun energy brings a smile to a lot of people. He is always smiling, engaging with people, singing, and he sprints all day long collecting cups, taking orders, and delivering drinks. He engaged with our children asking their names and just being friendly and fun with them as they ordered their mocktails during our stay. The nightly entertainment was good, and they have a kid's events/disco at 8pm on most nights at the theatre which is fun for them. We spent some time in the sports bar, and it has 2 pool tables, dart board, fooseball, arcade games, and a number of TVs to watch big games on. We didn't venture to the casino or disco this time around. The only negative I have to say for the resort, the main pool has very minimal loungers which means if you don't have one 'reserved' by 8am, you won't have a lounger by the main pool. We managed to get loungers almost every day but if you go to the pool after 9am, likely there would not be any loungers available. We were looking at the options this year for a vacation and came back to this resort from the great experience we had last year. It is a resort that has something for everyone, and it is definitely high on the list as a potential destination on our next vacation.

"Good vacation, but very inconsistent"

8.0

Overall Rating: Good vacation with great potential, but inconsistent execution. Grounds, Pools & Beach The resort grounds exceeded our expectations—lush, beautifully landscaped, and filled with vegetation. As beach lovers, we spent most of our time by the ocean, but the pool systems are incredibly unique. The infinity pool was our favorite, thanks to its vibrant surroundings and great swim-up bar. The beach itself is lovely, though heavily populated by vendors. Food & Dining The dining experience was hit-or-miss. Unfortunately, multiple dishes tasted pre-cooked rather than freshly prepared (for example, the Chicken Milanese at Portofino). Across the resort, shrimp were consistently served without being deveined (and yes, we did eat some before we noticed). However, the French-style Mercure restaurant was an outstanding exception. The food quality there was vastly superior, and both the chef and service staff were incredibly nice and attentive. Staff & Service Highlights Yaca (Concierge): Truly exceptional. She genuinely cared about our experience, proactively finding us daily to check in and assist with dining. Whenever we faced an issue, she did her absolute best to rectify it or relay feedback. We were only sorry we couldn't say goodbye on our last day due to her training schedule. Emmanuel (Beach Team): Outstanding dedication. He was the only consistent presence keeping the beach clean and politely enforcing rules regarding chairs. He operates at the level of a true "Beach Concierge" and deserves recognition. Areas for Immediate Management Attention Unauthorized Chair Reservations: We witnessed a staff member named Stevens (referred to as "Baby Face") accepting private payments to reserve front-row chairs in the preferred beach area. The towels and water bottles used to hold them still had heavy condensation on them. This happened at the main pool as well. It is incredibly frustrating for guests who follow the rules and wake up early to secure spots. This violation of hotel policy needs to be addressed immediately. Post-Event Housekeeping: Following two beach weddings, the shore was left covered in garbage and debris. Despite being assured it would be cleaned the next morning, it was left untouched both times. We actually had to avoid stepping on a discarded metal fork twice. Vendor Harassment: While registered vendors are manageable, the independent vendors in white shirts were highly aggressive and repeatedly harassed guests to buy excursions. Turn-Down Service & Noise: We only received turn-down service on 2 out of our 10 nights. Additionally, the nighttime beach parties are excessively loud if you prefer a quieter evening. Conclusion We had a good stay, but having previously visited Secrets and Dreams properties in Mexico, this location has some growing up to do. There is a lack of professionalism and urgency among some staff members. Dreams Royal Beach has immense potential, but management needs to instill a more disciplined, high-standard hospitality mindset.
