Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana - All Inclusive

I want to start off by saying I am a huge fan of Secrets Resorts and my expectations for all Hyatt Inclusive Collection properties is high because of that. This was a Birthday trip for my daughter who turned 16 along with 7 of her friends. I was not happy with this resort. The rooms, pools, and bars were good, but the food and service in some of the restaurants did not meet my expectations. There is a lot that I can say, but I will leave it at this. They need to work on the overall service, communication, and attentiveness they provide to the customers. This is my first negative review I have ever given and I hope I don't have to do it again.

Although the property is well maintained, and the staff is very helpful, the food and the extra money you paid for the premium are not worth it.

We visited Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana with a group of 40+ celebrating our Seniors graduation from high school. Every Senior was accompanied by at least one parent and shared a room with their parent. The resort is nice enough and we booked the Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean Front which included a very large room with King bed, additional living room/sitting area, 2 bathrooms and a nice outdoor porch area. Other than enjoying the larger room, I'm not sure of the benefits or amenities of booking "PREFERRED" as we were never able to get a reservation at the nicer restaurants, such as Fusion which serves both Hibachi style or a la carte menu, although we requested it upon our arrival. We were told that we can't make reservations prior to arrival but if you can't get them while you're there either, then you are stuck eating the subpar buffet meals. I don't expect Michelin star food or service but the variety and ability to order from menu versus eating in majority buffet style restaurants was disappointing. We enjoyed our time by the pool and on the beach each day. The servers attending to pool bars and the beach were very attentive and friendly. Our group did feel very safe at the resort but security was also very aggressive when checking identification and often didn't allow those that were 18 yrs old into the night club, although they had no issue with serving them drinks by the pool during the day. The inconsistency made no sense especially when they were accompanied by parents verifying they were over 18 and just trying to go enjoy dancing and fun with their friends and parents. If you're looking for an affordable vacation, with nice relaxing beach and pool and drinks without great food then you'll enjoy Dreams.

Resold is beautiful and clean. Language barrier was a bit tough compared to other resort stays we've been too. As it is a beautiful property, it is a bit choppy and feels a bit closed off and the beach cannot be seen from the resort. Beware... The peddlers come at you like vultures the second you set on the sand. Not a person plus for me.

We are a couple who need rest and a little of action but not too much. So we decided to go back to Dreams Royal Punta cana in May. The location is not too far from the airport (20-30 min). The atmosphere is for almost family but there is a Preferred Club section for the adult and family and in general it's calm and sometimes little action with family but for us it was joyfull. The Rooms are clean and all over too. The pool was not at 100 percent clean because of evening of rain but it was ok and normal. Unfortunately for those who like the beach there was a lot of ''algues'' even if they pass the trucks to clean it up, so a little desapointment. The Noise level was on 5/10 and it depends the period of the day. Morning pretty calm with the birds singing and during the afternoon there are some music to dance. The evening it's calm starting around 6pm (1/10) until 9pm (3/10) for the show of the day. If you have good and respectfull neighboor you will be okay, if not you can tell the butler and will take of the matter. I recommand the Preferred Club but it's expensive but it worth it. Billy was our butler and he is amazing, always available and will do everything he can to provide what you want and most of all rapidly. The specialty restaurant are excellent except the Fusion Restaurant who was extremely salty. The World Café buffet is just wow and the ice cream, pineapple and the Pizza was our favorites but it's hard too choose the favorite cause everything was so good. They have gluten free food. The pina colada in a Pineapple was so good, just wow! I strongly recommand this Resort.

Wonderful resort! Friendly staff and excellent service. The entertainment was kid friendly and resort felt very safe.

Aesthetics- beautiful resort. Our room on the preferred side was much nicer than friends in the main area. We felt everything had a clean look. Staff- Billy on the preferred side was great. Noel at the pool bar was awesome. Otherwise, if you weren’t holding a tip or known for tipping then service was below average. All inclusive shouldn’t have you carrying cash whenever you leave the room. Cleaning- our room was clean. We did not notice any mold. Our room was cleaned daily before 1. No complaints. Main pool- entirely too few chairs. Results in piles of bags/shoes everywhere. Pool bar expectedly busy and bartenders were good there. Music variety needs to greatly improve to engage guests. Restaurants- below average. Service was dismissive in many ways. Ordering bottle from the wine list seem to take an act of God. Mercure (French) had the worst service despite the fewest tables being occupied. Seaside grill probably the best including breakfast. Buffets just average. Having your Italian restaurant be a buffet is just sad though. Room service- probably some of the best food but wait time is crazy. At best was 1.15 hrs and worst was 2 hrs. Resort entertainment was just ok. In fairness, it’s always better with an active crowd of guests and that’s not really the resorts fault. Sports bar was fun for casual drinking, singing, and playing pool. Nightclub was barely attended because they seem to only play Spanish music. I get that it’s local but when everyone starts dancing as soon as you play hip hop then you should probably play that more. People would come up to do the Cupid Shuffle and then walk right back out when they changed genre the next song. Casino was fun. We have been to a lot of resorts and haven’t gambled much. Wish they had craps. Overall, if you have never been to a resort then you will be happy. If you have tried multiple resort brands, I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

Billy our personal concierge in the preferred club was absolutely spectacular. Please recognize him. He went above and beyond for everything. Very good communicator. Friendly. When we come back we will always ask for Billy!
