Galadari Hotel

Some staff seemed rude and the hotel service is not pleased this time. They offered two set for the three occupants room. The room for three occupants shown in the picture is not given but two occupants room has been given.

Got an upgrade to a very nice room on the 14th floor. Excellent service, friendly staff, good food and drinks. Very reasonable prices.

The room given to was so good to have a good view of the Galle face and the new port city.

The room was not clean as we entered, seemed like it was a spare room they had just put together. Requested the room And toilets to be redone while we were out. Main disappointment was asked to be changed to another room but was told that they are full and that the room we had booked was a old room, hence the status of the room.

The rooms badly need a facelift. Good location. The front desk staff were rude.

Never felt so unwelcome in a hotel. Station is right next door to Colombo Fort. So thought it was a good place to stay after our 10hr train journey from Ella. Door man didn't open the door for us, security was rude, the approach of check in was rude and abrupt and was delivered very condisendingly. "you know you need to pay for anything extra" (obviously it's a hotel...), do you have someone else staying... Is she your wife (does it matter?). 3 star room, bathroom was old. What was worse was that the lights didn't work. We didn't realise until late and my partner didn't want to make a fuss. Left a dissapointing comment card, still not heard anything.

Not a 5* hotel. Stayed in both the Presidential and Executive suites and both are in need of repair. Taps leaking, sockets not working. Unable to control the AC and or turn it off. Take ages to deliver room service, and collect bags. Was even told by the reception, 'can you not bring your bags down yourself'. If you want 5* stay at the Kingsbury. Spent ten days there and this was luxury at its best. Everything worked with efficient and prompt service. I stayed here after the Kingsbury as this was cheaper, for two nights, but somewhat regret it. Would I come here again?, not unless it's significantly cheaper than the competition.

The front desk is terrible, staff doesn't know how to solve problems, I requested early check in, was not given to me, always had to ask for towels, room service charged Rupees 500 to warm food. Breakfast was good.

The price they charged was not justified because the property is severely dated and ill maintained. Their star rating should be revised because it is misleading.
