Amazing food. Lovely room.

Staff communication was average.

Everything about this hotel is simply the best. I only stayed one night, and honestly, that's my biggest regret. I should have planned for more days. The property is massive, 27 acres for just 138 rooms, so there's so much space to breathe and wander. It genuinely feels like a well-maintained nature trail, not just a hotel garden. A lake runs along the border of the property, and sitting on one of those benches facing the water while the wind blows and the sun goes down? That's an experience on its own. Every single staff member was so welcoming — from the reception team to the restaurant crew to the guys who helped carry our bags around. That kind of warmth really stands out. The food was incredible. The breakfast and dinner spread had so many authentic Sri Lankan dishes, and it was such a treat getting to actually taste the local culinary brilliance rather than the usual hotel buffet. Our room was spacious, and they were kind enough to offer us an upgrade at arrival — so we ended up with a whole 1BHK villa to ourselves! We also asked for an extra bed and it was arranged with zero fuss and no extra charge. In short we loved everything about this place. The only regret is not booking more nights. If you're planning a stay, do yourself a favour and plan for at least a few days. It's absolutely worth it.

Gorgeous property and surroundings. Pool was amazing, loungers comfortable and high quality. The room was well kept and clean. We had a faulty socket in our room and someone from maintenance arrived in minutes and sorted it. Helpful safari / travel desk too.

Unfortunately several encounters with waiting staff were below expectation. On the first day they forgot one of our orders so we ended up eating separately. They also got our drinks order wrong. On the second day they told us to be seated and they would bring food to us from the freshly made buffet section, 20 minutes later, the food was sat on the side cold.

-обслуживание у ресторане раз на раз - то столы кое-как убирают, грязную посуду не забирают; в другой день может быть хорошее обслуживание - просто огромные тараканы заползают в номера (это домики прямо в лесу), очень жуткие - еда, в основном, местная - детям тяжеловато - вообще сотрудники очень медленные, чемоданы три раза просили принести из номера - никто никуда не торопится

The property showed its age in the bedroom /bathroom areas but more than makes up for, by the service offered by all departments starting from Krishantha (housekeeping - bedroom 39) Kamal (Front Office Baggage porter) and Gamini, Bandara, Sumith, Lalith (restaurant staff). It was the Stirling effort of these staff that made our stay memorable and incomparable. They are truly an asset to the John Keells Hotels Group. And, we will certainly return to Cinnamon Lodge because of the outstanding efforts put in by these staff members and few others in the restaurant whose name I have forgotten!! truly they are a credit to the organisation.

Maintenance of the aging facility needs to be raised a notch, to give it a more cleaner appearance and utilities such as room air conditioning and water drainage from shower recesses and flushing mechanisms toilet bowls etc etc etc.
