Hampton Inn & Suites Waco-South

This hotel is outdated and filthy. We had 3 rooms and all had stained carpet, a mildew smell, mold in the shower and damaged furniture. I do not see how other recent reviewers can say that they had a wonderful stay.

Room 315 was super musty. Must have been a water issue somewhere.

The staff is wonderful. The hotel needs some love. The carpet (all of it) is dirty and stained and needs to be replaced. The walls and woodwork need touching up. The furniture, especially in the breakfast area, needs to be cleaned. The room in which we stayed (210) is dark and missing furniture. The fitted sheets came loose from the mattress, because their pockets were too shallow. I booked Hampton because I've found it to be a reliably comfortable. No doubt this hotel was nice and comfortable maybe 10 or 15 years ago, but it's tired now and in need of a serious refresh. I will stay at Hampton Inns again, but I'm going to be more aware of the condition of a particular location before automatically booking there.

Some services within the hotel were in disrepair (ex elevator, ice machine). The breakfast was exceptional and both kitchen attendants warm and friendly. Room was overly dark. Sink bump out made it hard to use. The bed was very comfortable.

I showed up a few hours early for check in, the lady at the front desk was very accommodating and was able to let me check in early, as well as having a lovely chat. All of the staff I interacted with on my stay were kind and courteous, and the room was clean and tidy

Rooms were smaller than most we stay in (marriotts, best western plus, choice). Only positive was the in-room frig was larger than most. The price we paid was over double what we have paid at other hotels. We rarely pay over $110. Carpeting in hallways was dirty. Breakfast wasn’t as complete as other hotels we stay in. No extras like we have been having, ie, shredded cheese for eggs, nor healthy selections for cereals. Our son had made the reservations for 3 nights and 2 king rooms so it was an expensive stay. Hilton doesn’t meet our expectations.
