Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Port Charlotte Punta Gorda

It was close to the event we were attending.

There was no refrigerator or microwave. Some of the repairs in the bathroom were very poor. The carpet was in need of a deep cleaning.

This property is not at all worth the $174.72 we paid. At check in.....desk clerk on a lengthy phone call....wouldn't put the person on hold to take care of the people checking in. The room was small....no microwave, no mini fridge, no coffee, no soap and no real hot water.....somewhat warm. And, maybe worse yet......we love to play cards in the evening and given the furnishings in the room we didn't have a surface to use to play cards.

Only had hot water shower one day the other days were cold/cool and ice machine was not working on main floor.

Facility needs updating/refurbishing. Although clean paint chipped/peeling in places. Towel rack was rusty. Beds not comfortable.

The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and the location is in a convenient location. Parking is free and plentiful. The continental breakfast is also included, which is another plus. The room was also clean however, the room was in dire need of some loving. It was obvious that maintenance was lacking with rust on the towel holder in the bathroom, the shower head was not tight to the wall, and the tissue holder was pulling away from the wall. In the guest room, the carpet was severely frayed and torn at the door coming into the room, which gave the instant impression that the room was old and dated and needed to be upgraded. I guess it’s a case of you get what you pay for, if you want to stay in a high-end hotel it’ll cost you more however, if you’re looking to find a room in a budget hotel, this will fit the bill.

Very limited breakfast choices - go next door to Bob Evan’s; dirty carpets; no grab bars in the shower; grumpy desk clerk.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was very clean.

When in the hallway, you could hear the chatter of people in their rooms. The elevator door took forever to close. The phone in my room did not work. I tried to call down to the front desk to ask a question. Used my cell phone instead.
