Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Port Charlotte Punta Gorda

We enjoyed our stay. The front desk was very pleasant and helpful.

The people in the room nexr to us, had the TV tuned up quite loud but they did shut it off by 9: 30 pm.

The rooms are so small, your socks won't fit in them.

Breakfast was not that good

The price and location were what I was looking for. It is close to many stores and restaurants and not far from the spring training venues and beaches. There is a breakfast that smelled good but I didn’t make it down in time to eat so I can’t review.

No mini fridge for storing food and beverages. Not sure if it was just my room but I couldn’t get hot water unless it was an odd time like evenings and really early morning. The guide on the tv didn’t match the actual channels.

I rarely write any reviews. But thought I should as I rely on others when we book. This place was partially updated but run down. Weird signs and cameras everywhere which appears to me that their primarily clientele is a very budget traveller who damage the place. But this is not what we paid for as we paid an average price not a budget price Hotel. Unfortunately we did it last minute booking while on the way and that's why we overpaid. What i was also shocked was that within the standard language of docs you sign they input that the guest permits them to share their information with 3rd parties. Since I actually do read what I sign, I have crossed it and took a picture. We slept 1 night and left early am. Also, they collect the incidental fee of $100 which also i think a budget hotels norm. The problem is that they have not released it as I was told at the checkout. In fact, the person only released it days after I called and told him that money were not released. So I also count an additional at least 45 min of my time wasted to get the $100 back.

Unit was outdated … mildew on the caulking in bathroom… while my daughter was brushing her teeth soap of some sort came out of the faucet. While we repotted it to management it fell on deaf ears … was told it wasn’t happening in the maintenance room It shouldn’t have happened in our unit… I video recorded the incident and showed to the manager and 2 separate employees and they said they would look into it and advise us of why the issue was and never received any updates..
