"Lovely hotel with excellent service"

10.0

I’ve just stayed at Hotel Bazzoni for a week with a Riviera Travel Signature tour and was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel after reading some reviews. Our room (208) was really spacious - we booked a twin room and it actually had 3 single beds - and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the lake. The bathroom was a bit dark and had a small shower so would benefit a bit of an upgrade. The room could benefit from having a kettle and tea/coffee facilities. The lake view rooms are over the bar and road so could be an issue for light sleepers, and there can be noise from adjoining rooms but I don’t have a problem with noise and slept really well. The first night we ate in the hotel restaurant upstairs and weren’t impressed with the food, however the rest of the week we ate at N26 in front of the hotel and had an excellent meal every night. Breakfast each day was very good with a wide selection to choose from and very good coffee. The bar was also good with lovely cocktails and a live singer quite often. The location of the hotel is good. There is a bus and boat stop outside the hotel, plus easy access to 2 more boat stops just up the road (highly recommend getting the car ferry from Cadinabbia - it’s direct, fast and not as busy as the standard boats). There’s also other restaurants and a few shops just outside, and it’s possible to walk a fair distance in both directions to get to other villages. The thing that really made this hotel great for us was the service. Every single person was excellent, so friendly and helpful. It was an absolute pleasure staying here.

Excellent location. Great breakfast buffet. Excellent staff. The ferry station is just right in front of the hotel. Scenic, walking distance to Villa Carlotta. Lot’s of restaurants close by and they have a great one within the hotel as well.

"Good Hotel, good location."

8.0

We recently spent a week half board at the Bazzoni Hotel as part of a Riviera Travel Tour. I would say that by Italian standards, this is a good three star hotel. The location is good, if flying to Malpensa airport, being next to a lake ferry station and bus stop to local towns of interest. It is also a ten minute walk from the wonderful Villa Carlotti, not to be missed. We had a lake view room on the fifth floor with balcony giving stunning views of the lake, mountains and boat activity. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, comfortable and adequate. There is a safe and mini fridge plus phone charging points but no tea/coffee facilities and no English Tv channels. We took a small collapsible camping kettle. The room was serviced every day and the housekeeping staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Bedding/ towels etc were of a good standard. There were three choices of dinning:- 1. Main restaurant. A little school canteen like and few choices of average quality. Very good for breakfast however.. 2. Upstairs Pizza restaurant. Not used by us. 3. No 23 Al La Carte downstairs. Included in the half board tariff at no extra charge, other than drinks. Food was of an excellent quality and staff were experienced and very efficient. We used this facility most evenings. Pre book a table the night before at Reception to ensure a place. The bar was well stocked and well run with a good cocktail menu and agin, very friendly and efficient staff. The pool and outside drinks areas were not open during our stay. ( first week in October ) Highlights of the area:- 1. Villa Carlotti. A must visit for gardenning fans. 1. Bernina Express train over the snowfields and mountains to St Moritz. Just stunning ! ( Don’t forget to take Passports). 3. Valla Bardenelino. Wonderful Villa and gardens. Set of the most recent James Bond movie and a ten minute ferry ride from the hotel. 4. A 24 hour Central Lake Ferry ticket for €15 pp. any ferry any time to any local town. We are frequent visitors to Italy and enjoyed our stay in Lake Como. The best time to visit that area is May - June or September. Don’t even consider it in the summer months as it is totally congested with tourists and traffic. If we returned, we would probably stay in an Hotel in Bellagio, which has a lot more of everything going on and is beautiful. PS. Leave plenty of time to get through security/ baggage / passport control and head for the departure gate early as Italian Airport staff are never in a hurry. Bergamo Airport, however,is really nice with great shopping and food outlets. Lake Como is well worth a visit, at the right time of year.

"Not bad"

6.0

Room overlooking the lake was ok but on the small side with very little storage. Bar and staff very good as were the prices. Unfortunately the restaurant let it down big time. Even if you use the one opposite which was included not much better. Most of our fellow trip people used the restaurant s next door which were far superior to the hotel. If you get the time visit the wine bar next door. You will not be disappointed.

Restaurant was ok had some vegetarian options it was difficult to pass through the space between chairs at breakfast … bar area was ok best when the singers were on especially the opera singer think it was Franco he is amazing singer overall a lovely holiday shame about the rainy ☔️ days 🥲 EK

Hotel is in a good position facing Lake Como. Breakfast is good as are the pizzas but dinner in main restaurant is very hit and miss - not the best. The dining room staff work very hard and housekeeping keep the rooms clean to a good standard. Room itself was adequate but noisy - could hear guests in adjoining rooms talking.

"Dream location"

10.0

Stayed there for 6 nights on a coach tour to Lake Como and difficult to find any fault with this hotel for us. Room had beautiful Lake view and was cleaned every day. Bar was first class and evening entertainment was really good. Restaurant served excellent breakfasts with live chef cooking omelettes of your choice and wide range of everything else. Evening Meals were 4-Course and tasty. Beautiful Botanical Gardens Carlotta only about 100 yds along road. No hesitation in recommending and we hope to go back there.

Very close to the lake water busses and boats in general. Not too fancy but great view and WAY cheaper than the Grand Hotel and a 2 minute walk.

The view for this property was gorgeous, staff were very friendly. My fav thing about this spot was the pool. Umm wasn’t a fan of the bathroom, the tub was very weirdly shaped, water got everywhere when you showered as there were no curtains. I’m 5’7 and I had to crouch, in order to avoid getting water everywhere. Ac wasn’t the best but it was decent, had asked management to help us set it at the highest level. Public transportation was right infront of the hotel, so that was super convenient as there’s no access to taxi or Ubers. There’s also a ferry port right infront. The room itself was a little congested, but it was manageable. We had a patio area connected to our room, so that was really nice.
