Misty Hills Country Hotel

The receptionist was very bad. Nothing was explained to us and we had to call many times for simple things like towels, ironing board, the bed, sugar and tea. Service from the reception to the rooms must really improve as it is currently poor.

If this was a 3 star hotel and was a bit cheaper (in terms of the room and food prices), it would get a thumbs up from me. But at 4 starts and the prices, it didn't solidly deliver on my expectations. Also, aside from a few stand-out staff, the majority of their people under-delivered too. The place has awesome potential, but management needs to beef up their efforts. (I was there for a three day conference).

What a surprise. The photos do not show the true picture, the resort has much more charm and a lovely feeling. The entire family enjoyed the quick weekend getaway. The kids enjoyed the castle, swimming pool and games room. The wife enjoyed the superb spa, and dinner, lunch and breakfast and all three different restaurants were excellent. We will go again and have recommended the resort to friends as well.

I was there for three days and two nights. Checked in on Saturday 25 April and checked out on Monday 27 April. My wife and I and about 20 friends who stayed there over the long weekend enjoyed a magnificent time. Check-in was quick and efficient. The executive suite was big, comfortable and spotless. We had a private dinner at the Elephant Room/Carnivore with more friends who did not stay over and we were impressed with the service and the food. The overall experience was so good that we will return to Misty Hills again when another opportunity to get away arises.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Carnivore restaurant was a highlight. Will return again for another romantic breakaway.

The hotel is nice with beautiful gardens. However standard suites are not 4 star quality and have no air conditioning or fans for really hot days/nights. I was also double charged by Hotels.com and the hotel itself and am having a lot of difficulty getting responses from either Hotels.com or Misty Hills, as there seems no interest to correct the situation.

Pleasant surroundings, helpful and efficient staff. Room comfortable, cupboard had ample hanging space and hangers, but NO shelf or drawer space whatsoever - in cupboard or anywhere else.

It was an amazing setting The food was absolutely fantastic and the restaurant catered to our individual specifications due to being halaal. The staff was wonderful and pleasant. The place looks exactly as the pictures advertised. The Spa though does state in the brochure a heated pool but it is not heated. The downside moment for this stay was when I checked in, the receptionist who assisted me wasn't very informative and I was told to take my own bags to the room, only later to find out that there is a porter service available, which was not called upon my arrival. The parking and the rooms are quite a distance. That for me was highly annoying specially taking into consideration it is a four star rated hotel.

The premises is absolutely beautiful, very relaxing, you don't even know that you are in the city. It was lovely.
