Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Decatur, TX by IHG

The bed had an odor about it like the sheets weren’t clean. The breakfast was very good had lots of food!

The hotel was outside of Decatur, right before your reach it, off the side of the road, down a rustic decline. Right before it is a service station with a Subway. Otherwise, nothing nearby… no place in sight to get anything else to eat. No store, Nada. The guy who is the cashier for the service station also fixes your Subway sandwich. The hotel is ok. The room comfortable and clean, except for black hairs in the bathtub/shower. The breakfast ok. The fridge in the room has no little freezer section - for blue gel ice packs for my front seat cooler.

Most everything was good. The toilet seat was old and stained. Needs to be thrown out.

The staff was really nice, but that’s about it.

We were awakened before 7:00 on Saturday by drilling in the hallway. This was not cleaned up by the time we returned. Our room was not cleaned very well, the decor is shabby, towels were dingy and sour smelling, in general things were sloppy. I couldn’t get wi-fi to work, the air wasn’t very cool, and one of the maids apparently took my hair clip. I only stayed here as a last resort and won’t go back.

It was overall a nice stay for 1 quick night. We did notice that none of the outlets by the bed worked, and also the shower drain wouldn’t stay unplugged.. Neither of which were HUGE deals, but just what we encountered in our less than 12 hour stay!

The front desk(both) men were very kind and respectful.

The entrance to the property is in poor, rough condition. And when coming to the hotel, the turn across the freeway is not protected and dangerous. Imo
