Holiday Inn Express of Salado-Belton by IHG

Good highway adjacent hotel. Slightly dated - but for one overnight it is consistent with what you can expect of the brand .

Staff was welcoming. Breakfast was yummy. Room was clean. I was surprised there was no “real” tv. Only streaming options. I suppose for the cost, maybe that was to be expected.

The tv was broken but everything else was ok. There was a lack of enough outlets, but they are remodeling.

Location

Location was ok, although not as close to downtown Salado as we expected. Staff were very friendly and helpful, we really liked the staff.

First room we were given had hair all over bathroom floor and in the bed, like it was not even cleaned. This room also smelled gross. The front desk gave us another room and although it seemed cleaner, we found 2 bugs on the walls and it was very dark in the room. The rooms are very outdated and did not look like the website images. Breakfast was not good, they had expired cream and yogurts out.

We love Salado and stay at this hotel each time we visit. It is everything we look for in a hotel.

The room was spacious and clean. The hotel was quiet. The room was close to the morning breakbast lounge, which is convenient.

Either Expedia or Holiday Inn- I do not know which, but when I checked in- no one verified my email- when I checked out and asked for my receipt, staff told me I did not have a receipt. Someone had actually mailed it to my ex-husband instead of my email. Huge problem there. The property was nice, but I just can't believe the receipt issue. Why was it not emailed to me?
