Holiday Inn Express Schaumburg-Rolling Meadows by IHG

Very good

This hotel is where we had to stay at the stay-to-play soccer tournament that we had in April, and we did not have a choice about the location. Therefore, we hoped that it would be a decent stay. It did offer breakfasts, a seating area, and parking, so we were hopeful about the accommodations. However, we only got one of the three. Honestly, we got a decent room, and the beds were small (doubles) but fine. For two adults and two kids, that's crowded, but we made it work. The seating area in the lobby was not enough for our team, and we had to spill over into the eating area. There was garbage in the hallway areas at times and there are only two elevators so we often took the stairs. Parking was abundant though the parking lot had several large potholes that you ought to try and avoid. The breakfasts were disastrous. The first day we were there, there was barely anything out. They said that they were getting a shipment later that day. For the next two mornings, if you came down early enough, one was able to grab one of the few yogurts that were put out and never refilled. The fruit that the front desk person said would be there never came. There was a station for cinnamon rolls that never had anything in it. Vegetarians were limited to potatoes and eggs made out of powder. The breads were kept to a minimum and only after cajoling the staff would they put out more. I hope we stay elsewhere if we have to come to this tournament again.

The bed was comfortable

Our bathroom had a lot of problems. The complimentary shampoo and body wash were empty, there was a mystery liquid on the floor leaking from the toilet, and the sink did not drain properly.

It was pleasant

Hotel has recently been remodeled but quality of workmanship was poor. No towel hooks or racks in bathroom. No exhaust fan in bathroom, ac unit kicked on and off every 10-15 minutes making the room too cold or too hot most problematic was residual did smell and dander from previous guest. Caused an allergic reaction since I’m allergic to dogs. Also not well marked signage from road. The howl sign is in front of a closed down hotel. It did not Cleary identify the holiday inn was behind that hotel. I figured it out of course but just lots of little things like that. This facility is not up to what a newly renovated holiday inn express should be

Great experience!

The staff was friendly. The beds slept horrible. Weird smell. No Cinnamon rolls as expected. The location had a vacant hotel next to it that was unsafe feeling. Overall I would not stay here again.

No cinnamon rolls

Room was spacious enough but not maintained well. Not thoroughly cleaned, broken bathtub, dirty chair. None of that give a good feel.

Staff was very friendly and professional. Rooms clean, breakfast good.
