Palm Royale Resort - Soma Bay

We have visited the Palm Royale many times over the last 13 years, from when it was a Thomas Cook Sentido hotel. Now we book direct with the hotel and are welcomed back like family. The staff are amazing, the management are always to hand and ready to chat and address any problems, of which we have had none. Kannan Subramaniam, front office manager, is charming and we look forward to seeing him again when return later this month. Rooms, we book the beach front room, with VIP breakfast and it is beautiful and right on the beach. See pics. The guys that take care of the rooms keep them immaculate and will always be around if you need anything extra. The food, buffet is exceptional and à la carte restaurants are excellent. There is no shortage of choice. It is a beautiful hotel, the staff make it better than anywhere else we have stayed. Hence why we return so often!

This was our 3rd visit to Palm Royal. The facilities are amazing, everywhere is spotlessly clean. Our beachfront room was amazing. Everywhere you look is top quality. The food in general was fantastic, some days better than others but that could be purely down to individual choice. Restaurants in order of preference are EL Tannor, Asian Delights, Il Portico, the Greek. We enjoyed our breakfasts in La Terrace we felt special, Lunches in Azur was great and Johnnys Bar on an evening was friendly and relaxing. The People. Yasser in the buffet made sure we had everything we needed and looked after us all the time in there.Haney in Azur very friendly and his service levels were amazing. He was taken away to help with the Arab sailing competition for a couple days and the service levels dropped, we was pleased when he came back.Mustapha in La Terrace, very helpful and professional and also on an evening in the À la Carts. The STAR of the show was Mohsen Lahzy, he looked after us on the beach all day then on an evening in Johnnys. What a kind caring, friendly, nice man.He is the best. He has formed part of our memories of this holiday that will remain with us. If there were more people in the world like Mohsen it would be a far better place. Firstly, should say that we were advised of the maintenance work scheduled during our stay. That said, thinking a little more consideration could have been given in terms of when the work would take place, maybe following breakfast and perhaps, a down period during lunch. The staff, as always, went out of their way to make our time in resort as special as they possibly could, Mostafa Elgohary was especially helpful, thank you all.

We stayed here as a result of a recommendation from friends. We booked with only a couple of months to our intended trip and so paid for everything up front. What the online travel agent didn’t tell us at the time of booking was that the main swimming pool would be closed during our visit and that refurbishment works would be carried out to parts of the hotel. Had we have known would we have booked…..no. However, as our only purpose was to grab some winter sun, it turns out that despite the above, our break was not so bad after all. The main hotel itself was not affected by the building works. The interior design is absolutely amazing and all the bars, restaurants, spa facilities were still available. The grounds are kept immaculate, in fact everything is really clean and well maintained. There were no sun beds other than those on the beach, I suspect as a result of the pool being closed and the building works. Our room was far enough away from the works being carried out on the swimming pool not to affect us, with easy access to the beach and sun beds. The hotel was I think only half full. If it wasn’t for the Arab Sailing Championships taking place at the hotel itself, with all the participants staying here, we probably would have had it all to ourselves! That meant that finding a sun bed on the beach was very easy and no problem booking the restaurants (you can only eat at three of the four during a one week stay). The food overall was pretty good. Spirits were not so great, wine and beer were fine. Gym was adequate, we didn’t use the spa. The sea is very calm, easy to swim in although a tad cold this time of year. There is an atm in the hotel lobby by the “bazza” where you can put in sterling notes and get Egyptian ones back. All the staff are exceptionally good. They really look after you and make sure that you have everything that you need. The buffet restaurant is I think quite small for the number of rooms at the hotel….i wonder if it were at full capacity how it would cope and what the dining experience would be. All in all we had a great time here despite the pool closure and building works….the weather was really nice and overall the food and drinks okay and as I mentioned the staff are fantastic. Give it a few weeks for everything to be completed and I would definitely recommend.

A szállodának van egy shop része viszont mocskosul és pofátlanul drága minden. egy egyszerű példa: egy sima gyújtó 1400 forint 😄 amikor az átlag fizetés 120 ezer forint... A személyzet nagyon kedves, az animátorok pedig végtelenül normálisak és nagyon sokat foglalkoznak a gyerekekkel. Ezt a részét imádtuk, hogy mindenki megállt egy pillanatra a kisfiunk arcára mosolyt csalni. We spent one week there with our family. We are basically an active, outgoing family, so in hindsight this accommodation was not the best choice for us, as there is literally nothing around in the area. The hotel does have a shop, but everything there is outrageously and unreasonably expensive. Just one simple example: a basic lighter costs around 1,400 HUF 😄 while the average local salary is about 120,000 HUF. The staff, however, are extremely kind, and the animation team is genuinely wonderful. They spend a lot of time with the children, and we absolutely loved that everyone always took a moment to make our little son smile.

We had a lot vacations in Egypt, but this hotel.. this was pure paradise for us. The hotel it self is beautifull combination of Egypt, Roman, Greek.. pure satisfaction. The stuff.. I havent met more polite people, and more eager to help you feel satisfited and enjoy every moment. The boat trip, snorkling with guys, so much fun, and they made fish that taste incedible, even the photos was incredible, videos with us while snorkling and all the colorfull fish swiming aroun us. We got even a free trip on speed boat to show our kid a sea turttles. The lady that make little breads in outside brick owen, it was like having a grandmom who gave our son bread every time he passes by here, and with the big smile. Even taking a ride oround the resort in golf car to show us all amenities. Every night diferent food theme, made on the spot. Nice shows and lady who plays piano in the loby, everythig is made to keep your smile on the face all the time. If I did miss something to say, all I can add is.. this is a perfect place if you want to feel like on real holiday. Thank you all, and see you soon.

The hotel has an intimate, palace-like atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and clean, offering charming views of the bay and the sea. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel provides a wide range of attractions, including quad biking tours in the desert, motor yacht trips to nearby coral reefs with snorkeling, horse riding, kitesurfing lessons, and diving, as well as wellness options such as massages and beauty treatments. Our stay would not have been nearly as enjoyable without the outstanding service and warm, friendly communication from Mr. Abo at the Aqua Center. Special thanks also go to the quad team — Mohamed and Ahmed — and to the riding instructor for giving our daughter an unforgettable riding lesson.

We stayed in a hotel 45 minutes away from here and had discovered the Aqua Centre run by Abo Raslan. He will guarantee that you have your best holiday experiences. His attention to detail is extraordinary but you hardly noticed as he make sure you have fun. He is an absolute gem and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough for any trip or excursion. Thank you Abo Raslan for helping to create some incredible experiences and memories.
