The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel

It was fine - but the room did not live up to the rest of the beautiful building.

The hotel infrastructure has definitely seen better days, thin walls means you hear the other rooms talking, snoring, toilets and water flushing. The cleanliness was good and the staff pleasant, but dingy lighting and faded fraying carpets and smokers sitting right outside the entrance doors means that the overall impression is not great.

Property needs some TLC. Well located.

Been there before still a good and friendly hotel

Room was okay, but building generally in poor condition. Very noisydoors, loud music in dining room, dead plants In tubs outside front door, chairs in bar had grubby arms. And tables in very poor state. Staff were nice and food Okay.

We have stayed at the Hydro several times over the years with our dog. However the hotel is looking dated, floors need repaired and rooms would in our opinion need a refresh. Also alot of the areas not directly in use were quite dusty and lots of rust were evident. A deep clean of those areas would be recommended. A really nice hotel to stay but in the future I think we will look to stay elsewhere.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, made us feel very comfortable. Room was quite warm during a sunny summer weekend, but they provided a fan upon request. Breakfast was good.

Hotel was clean and tidy although a little dated. Breakfast was good. We had only 2 issues. Firstly no aircon or even a fan in the room. Secondly the window to our bathroom was carpark facing. The blind wasn't big enough for the window which wasn't great our privacy.
